About Tint: Tint enables SaaS platforms and marketplaces to unlock growth and improve profitability through embedded insurance. They offer plug-and-play and white-labeled integrations, providing technology infrastructure, services, and deep industry expertise. Tint has raised $30M and is backed by investors like Y Combinator, QED, Deciens, Nyca, Plug and Play, WIN, Soma Capital, and Pioneer Fund.
Tint partners with companies like Turo, Deel, uShip, Guesty, Neighbor, BabyQuip, and CitizenShipper.
About the Role
This remote role, with a preference for candidates in Seattle, SF Bay Area, or NYC, is for an Associate Product Manager to support one of Tint’s largest and most operationally complex product programs. You’ll report to the Staff Product Manager and collaborate closely with engineers, operations, data teams, and partner-facing teammates. Externally, you’ll engage with vendors, partners, and their customers.
This role focuses on the operational core of the product, including monitoring data, tracking issues, QA’ing engineering builds, and keeping stakeholders informed. It’s a first product role—no prior PM experience or technical background is required. Tint values curiosity, discipline, and the ability to navigate unfamiliar systems.

What You’ll Do at Tint
- Stay on top of the data. Track product data behavior, including volume, gaps, anomalies, and issues. Identify problems before they’re reported and explain changes and their reasons.
- Keep the written record true. Maintain a single source of truth for every item, reconcile documentation with agreed-upon details, and update internal and customer-facing changelogs after every release.
- Be the bridge to ops. Intake bug reports and UI feedback from operations, refine them for engineering, and ensure ops is informed of resolutions.
- QA engineering work. Verify that engineering builds meet acceptance criteria, catch gaps between intent and implementation, and push back when they don’t align.
- Keep the board honest. Ensure ticket hygiene and project maintenance, including clear ticket writing, accurate status updates, surfacing stale work, and flagging blocked items early.
- Investigate. Dig into logs, dashboards, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog) to diagnose issues. Gather enough evidence to help engineers start three steps ahead.
What We’re Looking For
- This is someone’s first product role. No degree, specific major, or prior PM experience is required, but evidence of working in a high-stakes environment is essential (e.g., internships, first jobs, support, QA, ops, coordination, or analytics).
- Curious and knows when to stop. Pull threads when inconsistencies arise, ask clarifying questions, and recognize when to escalate issues instead of investigating indefinitely.
- Thinks in workflows, not screens. Anticipate gaps in processes, trace end-to-end workflows, and identify confusing flows or poorly written error messages.
- Works out the how. Determine what matters for tasks, identify necessary stakeholders, and ensure items are completed correctly.
- Unintimidated by technical things. Comfortable reading specs, logs, and dashboards, and communicating technical issues to engineers.
- Writes things down by default. Document decisions, tickets, changelogs, bug reports, and escalations clearly and concisely.
- Someone people can count on. Provide accurate, timely responses, admit when unsure, and follow through on commitments.
Bonus Points For
- Exposure to insurance (carrier, broker, MGA, claims, policy admin) or fintech.
- Hands-on experience with an observability tool like Datadog.
- Experience in a QA or test role.
- Familiarity with issue trackers (e.g., Linear, Jira).
- Previous exposure to recurring data feeds from external systems.

Location

Tint strongly prefers candidates who do not require current or future employer sponsorship for US work authorization.
