Logistics Team Lead / Operations Specialist

The Logistics Team

Key problems the team is addressing:

• Decide what lives on site, what lives an hour out, and what lives twelve hours out. We are building the material disposition strategy from scratch for a fleet scaling across multiple sites, ensuring placement logic prevents site blockages.

• Move off third-party warehousing and stand up our own. Transitioning out of 3PL-run warehouses and building in-house operations on our own footprint and rules.

• Build and integrate our own warehouse, inventory, and transportation management systems. No off-the-shelf stack covers a build at this scale, so systems are built and connected in-house, end-to-end.

Role Scope

• Book and schedule shipments across the network, coordinating pickup and delivery windows directly with carriers and receiving sites.

• Track every shipment in transit through the transportation management system, checking ETAs against committed windows and flagging at-risk deliveries before they impact sites.

• Chase missed SLAs to root cause with carriers and drive each one to resolution, not just logging it.

• Own the day-to-day relationship with our dedicated carrier: rates, capacity, service issues, and escalations.

• Keep shipment and carrier performance data current in the TMS and turn it into a running view of who's hitting SLAs and who isn't.

What We're Looking For

• You have personally booked and managed shipments end-to-end, from carrier booking through delivery confirmation, across a network of multiple sites or destinations.

• You obsessively track shipments: you know an ETA is slipping before the site does, and you proactively address it.

• You have owned a carrier relationship where you knew the account rep, the operations manager, and the truck schedule well enough to solve problems without escalating.

• You have chased a missed SLA to its actual cause and can describe what changed after.

• You are fluent in a transportation management system: booking, tracking, exception handling, and pulling reports that tell you what's actually happening.

• You keep shipment data clean and current under real volume, ensuring nobody downstream has to double-check your numbers.
