About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of core finance operations, cash management, payments, and financial controls.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working independently in a lean, fast-moving environment and can maintain a clear, accurate view of the company's liquidity while ensuring payments, controls, and working capital are managed effectively.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor daily cash flow and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast to provide an accurate view of liquidity.
  • Own the full payment cycle, including supplier payments, contractor payments, and company cards, ensuring everything is processed accurately and on time.
  • Develop and manage working capital strategies, including using available payment terms, sequencing outflows around inflows, and minimising idle cash.
  • Oversee card and account security, including controls, spending limits, and proactively identifying and preventing unauthorised charges.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls and clear segregation of duties.
  • Support and manage the company's banking relationships and working-capital facilities.
  • Identify potential financial risks and take proactive action before they become issues.
  • Work independently and take end-to-end ownership of finance operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Financial Controller, Treasury, Senior Finance Operations, or similar role.
  • Experience in high-volume e-commerce, DTC, consumer businesses, or a similarly fast-paced environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Genuine interest in and openness to AI-assisted finance workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive financial information.
  • High level of discretion and integrity.
  • Proactive, low-ego working style with the ability to take ownership without requiring extensive processes or supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a lean and fast-moving environment.

Who We're Looking For

  • The ideal candidate is someone who doesn't simply report on the company's finances but actively owns and protects the financial operation.
  • You should be comfortable making decisions around cash flow, payments, working capital, and financial controls while maintaining a high level of accuracy and discretion. If you enjoy building structure, spotting problems before they happen, and independently owning a critical area of the business, this role could be a strong fit.
