Senior Accountant (Remote)

Peek's Accounting team focuses on creating scalable financial solutions with accuracy and completeness for a thriving B2B SaaS software development business. We aim to be innovative and collaborative to achieve our goals.

We are seeking a highly talented and passionate individual to identify gaps and create scalable accounting solutions across all business facets. In this role, you will make an immediate impact through expertise in process improvement, full-cycle accounting, and technical accounting guidance. You will collaborate with all departments on special projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process and serve as a primary liaison with external auditors.

• Manage and mentor the accounting team, elevating close ownership across staff and senior accountants while handling complex areas.

• Evaluate, develop, and strengthen department controls, systems, and procedures to support a scalable control environment.

• Own technical accounting research and documentation, resolving complex business and technical issues and preparing supporting memorandums.

• Partner with the Controller on financial reporting, audit readiness, and accounting policy across all entities.

• Implement technology and process improvements to support new business initiatives and a faster, cleaner financial close.

• Lead projects that significantly contribute to close efficiency and financial system optimization.

• Manage and monitor all accounting systems, including NetSuite.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting policies and regulatory standards.

• Hire, train, motivate, and develop team members while supervising and delegating department work.

Skills You Already Have

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• An advanced degree or CPA certification.

• 5-7 years of relevant experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience at a public accounting firm.

• Proficiency in researching technical accounting matters and preparing memorandums.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, including software development and ASC 606.

• Experience in process optimization, simplification, and standardization.

• Familiarity with ERP solutions and financial systems; experience with NetSuite preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Effective leadership and personnel management skills.

• Experience with intercompany accounting for multiple entities.
