Senior iOS Engineer

Peek, the operating system powering the experiences industry, is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer with 5+ years of development experience.

The ideal candidate will design, build, and maintain robust applications that integrate with multiple backend services. This role will primarily focus on supporting the workflows used directly by Peek’s customers and improving overall system performance, security, and reliability.

Core Responsibilities:

You will:

• Take ownership of critical product areas and leverage AI tools as a force multiplier on top of strong technical fundamentals.
• Design and operate complex agent orchestration systems.
• Develop patterns for human-agent collaboration.
• Ship real product features primarily through agent-assisted development in collaboration with human colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

Our engineering group works on several products and systems, including:

• The Peek Pro operations management suite.
• Embeddable scheduling and booking flows.
• Custom development services for enterprise customers.

You will:

• Focus on supporting customer-facing workflows.
• Improve system performance, security, and reliability.

• Adaptability to the changing tech industry, including:

  • Daily use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) in a production engineering workflow.

• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code critically, catching:

  • Logic errors.
  • Security issues.
  • Assessing maintainability.
  • Owning merged code regardless of its origin.

• Strong system design instincts, considering:

  • Tradeoffs.
  • Edge cases.
  • Scalability and failure scenarios.

• Clear and empathetic communication skills, including:

  • Flagging unclear specifications.
  • Articulating technical choices.
  • Collaborating and understanding diverse perspectives.
  • Constructive engagement in disagreements.

• Self-motivation and ownership, pushing work forward independently and unblocking yourself and the team on business priorities.

Skills You Already Have:

• A passion for Swift and mobile development.
• 5+ years of professional development using Swift/Objective-C.
• Solid coding practices, including:
  • Peer code reviews.
  • Unit testing.
  • Continuous integration.
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience with mobile application architecture and design patterns at scale.
• Familiarity with unit, integration, and UI testing practices.
• A strong understanding of AI tools and the ability to identify pitfalls and course-correct AI-generated code based on deep knowledge of production software fundamentals.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Android development.
• Experience with GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD.
• Experience working on B2B software, booking flows, or in the travel industry.
