About the Role:

Sezzle is seeking a Product Intern to join their Payments & Fees team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with ample career growth prospects.

The Payments & Fees team operates at the intersection of technology, data, and business, collaborating with payment processors, providers, and cross-functional partners. As a product intern, you won’t just observe—you’ll participate in decision-making, adapt quickly, and contribute to a team that values speed and craftsmanship.

You’ll support the product manager in a high-throughput environment, including organizing backlogs, analyzing payment data, and collaborating with engineering, design, and data teams. Product management is dynamic, with daily shifts between technical discussions, business challenges, and user needs.

What You’ll Do:

Ticket Management & Product Support

• Assist the product manager in drafting, organizing, and tracking tickets for payments service changes and improvements. Ensure work is documented, prioritized, and moving through the backlog. Follow up on status and address blockers.

Context Gathering & Stakeholder Support

• Help the product manager gather background context from multiple stakeholders, summarize key information, and prepare materials for provider meetings. Respond to routine internal questions by retrieving relevant data.

Payment Workflow Analysis

• Learn and apply SQL to query payment data and support dashboard creation for tracking payment performance, processing failures, and operational health. Flag anomalies in payment flows and assist in assembling data for reviews and investigations.

Documentation & Process Tracking

• Maintain clear internal documentation for payment flows, fee structures, and operational processes. Ensure cross-functional teams stay aligned with concise, well-structured updates.

Agile Meetings

• Participate in agile meetings and collaborate with engineering, operations, compliance, and support teams. Act as a bridge between tech and business, translating technical challenges and business needs into actionable requirements.

What We Look For:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• A genuine interest in payments, fintech, and financial systems.
• Natural curiosity, logical mindset, and satisfaction from problem-solving.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through to resolve issues.
• Comfort working with data and willingness to learn SQL (prior experience is a plus).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to summarize complex topics and ask clarifying questions.
• Prior experience in internships, projects, or extracurriculars related to product, fintech, data analysis, or startups is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.
