IT Specialist (System and Automation Team)
Job Description
Key Skills Required
Master these to land this role
Want to know if you're a match for this job?
We're looking for an IT Specialist (System and Automation Team) to join our growing Systems & Automations team. This role is part builder, part problem-solver: you'll take messy manual workflows and turn them into clean, reliable automated systems that serve the entire organization.
You won't be working in isolation. You'll be embedded in a sprint-based team that ships real solutions every two weeks, ranging from internal dashboards and reporting pipelines to AI-powered agents and process automation.
TASKS:
- Build and maintain automation systems using Google Apps Script as the primary development platform.
- Integrate with APIs (ClickUp, Google Workspace, third-party services) to connect systems and move data where it needs to go.
- Design and build lightweight web app interfaces (HTML/CSS/JS) for internal tools and dashboards.
- Use Google Sheets as a data layer: structured tabs, formulas, and script-driven pipelines.
- Translate non-technical requests from Operations, HR, Finance, and Leadership into working automated solutions.
- Write clear documentation (SOPs, specs, system registries) so your work outlives you.
- Participate in 2-week sprint cycles: grooming, building, testing, shipping, retro.
- Maintain and improve existing systems (~20% of your time on maintenance).
- Collaborate on AI agent development (ClickUp Super Agents, prompt engineering, automation logic).
- Work with no-code/low-code tools to ship fast when full custom builds aren't warranted.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Google Apps Script / JavaScript: Can write modular scripts, work with triggers, and build web apps.
- REST API integration: Can read API docs, authenticate, parse JSON, and handle errors.
- No-code/low-code tools: Experience with platforms like Zapier, Make, or native app automations.
- AI fluency & Agentic AI: Comfortable using AI tools daily, understands prompting, and can configure or maintain AI agents.
- CRM experience: Familiar with CRM platforms and how data flows through them (contacts, pipelines, automations).
- Process thinking: Can look at a manual workflow and see the automation opportunity.
- Self-directed work style: Comfortable with async communication, managing your own tickets, and shipping without hand-holding.
- Willingness to learn fast: You don't need to know everything on day one, but you need to pick things up quickly and independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with ClickUp (task management, API, custom fields, automations).
- Google Sheets (advanced): Understands Sheets as a data layer, not just a spreadsheet.
- Experience building reporting dashboards or data visualization.
- Understanding of webhooks and event-driven architecture.
- Background in HIPAA-compliant environments or healthcare operations.
- Familiarity with version control concepts and documentation-first development.
- HTML / CSS for building internal UIs.
