The role requires an experienced Inventory & Supply Chain Analyst to take ownership of stock management, inventory reconciliation, and supply chain analysis within a fast-paced international e-commerce environment.
This is a broad, hands-on role spanning finance, inventory, supply chain, and stock management. The ideal candidate does not necessarily need a traditional accounting background but should have strong experience within Amazon, e-commerce, retail, DTC, or end-consumer product businesses. Practical experience in inventory planning, stock reconciliation, replenishment, and supply chain operations is particularly valuable.
The role demands an analytical and naturally curious individual who will not only identify discrepancies but also investigate their root causes, engage with relevant teams, and take ownership of resolving issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of stock and inventory reconciliations across multiple systems, warehouses, and sales channels.
- Reconcile physical and system stock levels and investigate discrepancies through to resolution.
- Reconcile Amazon inventory and stock movements against internal system records.
- Review Amazon ledger reports, stock adjustments, and system movement reports to identify missing or incorrect transactions.
- Investigate stock variances and provide clear explanations and recommended corrective actions.
- Track stock movements between warehouses and ensure inventory is accurately accounted for throughout transfers.
- Analyze inventory at SKU level to identify discrepancies, risks, excess stock, shortages, and unusual movements.
- Support inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment activities.
- Monitor inbound stock, shipments, warehouse movements, and stock availability.
- Pull together information from finance, supply chain, warehouse, and operational teams to support accurate reconciliations.
- Produce clear stock and inventory reporting for management.
- Structure and analyze large datasets to make information easy to understand and review.
- Proactively identify issues within stock data and investigate their root causes.
- Support month-end inventory reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and operational stakeholders.
- Help improve inventory controls, reporting processes, and stock management procedures.
Key Requirements
- Strong professional experience across inventory management, supply chain, stock control, replenishment, inventory planning, or stock accounting.
- Previous experience within an Amazon, e-commerce, DTC, retail, or end-consumer product business is highly desirable.
- Practical understanding of Amazon inventory/FBA environments would be a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated experience performing detailed stock reconciliations and investigating variances.
- Strong understanding of stock movements, warehouse transfers, and inventory controls.
- Experience working with large SKU portfolios and high-volume inventory data.
- Strong supply chain and stock management knowledge.
- Some exposure to the financial/accounting side of inventory, including stock valuation, adjustments, or month-end reconciliations, is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to pull, reconcile, analyze, and structure large volumes of data.
- Experience working with ERP, inventory management, or marketplace systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
The Type of Person We’re Looking For
You will be someone who is naturally curious and investigative. When a reconciliation does not balance, you will not simply report the difference—you will work through the available data, speak to the relevant people, and determine what caused it.
You should be comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment and proactively reaching out to colleagues for information rather than waiting for answers to come to you. The role requires a genuine self-starter who takes ownership and follows issues through to completion.
Ideal Background
Candidates could come from backgrounds such as:
- Inventory Planning / Inventory Analysis
- Supply Chain Planning
- Stock Management / Stock Control
- Replenishment Planning
- E-Commerce Operations
- Amazon FBA / Marketplace Operations
- Inventory Accounting
- Supply Chain Analysis
- Warehouse & Inventory Management
A profile combining Amazon/e-commerce exposure, inventory planning, SKU-level analysis, replenishment, stock optimization, and strong analytical capability would be particularly relevant to this position.
What Success Looks Like
- Stock reconciliations are fully owned and completed accurately.
- Inventory discrepancies are investigated, understood, and resolved rather than simply reported.
- Amazon and internal system inventory levels are consistently reconciled.
- Warehouse transfers and stock movements are accurately tracked from beginning to end.
- Inventory risks, shortages, excess stock, and unusual movements are identified proactively.
- Management receives clear and reliable inventory reporting.
- Supply chain, finance, and stock information are brought together effectively.
- Inventory processes become more accurate, efficient, and easier to review.
