The role of a UI Designer at APPLY is a visual craft-first position, blending graphic design expertise with AI-powered creative tools. This is distinct from the Product Design track and is tailored for someone who thinks like a graphic designer, communicates like a brand strategist, and seamlessly transitions between brand exploration and interface work.
You will help shape brand identities from the ground up, including stylescapes, brand books, and live workshops, while also contributing to UI and product design work using both traditional and agentic tools. Your expertise in Figma, Midjourney, Figma Weave, and Veo will be crucial, along with an agency consultant’s instincts to deliver fast, collaborative, and client-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
Brand & Visual Design
Design stylescapes, moodboards, and visual explorations to set creative direction for client engagements.
Build and contribute to brand books and visual identity systems.
Plan and actively participate in brand workshops with clients, translating live discussions into visual concepts in real time.
Utilize generative image and video tools like Midjourney, Figma Make, Figma Weave, and Veo to rapidly explore and produce concept visuals, campaign assets, and creative options.
Decks and Presentation Design
Design and art-direct client pitch decks, narrative presentations, and proposals, covering layout, typography, imagery, and data visualization.
Build reusable slide systems and templates in Google Slides and Figma Slides.
Use Claude Design to speed up first drafts, then refine them manually to achieve polished results.
Product & UI Flex
Flex into UI and product design work as needed, using Figma alongside agentic tools like Claude Code, Claude Design, and Figma Make.
Apply structured agentic workflows (e.g., BMAD) to quickly move from concept to production-ready design.
Collaborate with product designers and developers to maintain visual and brand consistency across UI deliverables.
Tool Fluency & Craft
Maintain a broad, current understanding of AI design tools and evaluate new ones as they emerge.
Apply strong graphic design fundamentals, including typography, color, layout, and composition, to every deliverable, whether brand or digital.
Client & Consulting
Present concepts and creative rationale directly to client stakeholders.
Work as part of an agency/consulting team across multiple concurrent engagements.
Contribute to a design culture that treats AI tools as creative collaborators, not shortcuts.
