Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) - Sports and Entertainment Vertical

Extreme Networks is seeking a dynamic Systems Engineer to join our Sales team in a Pre-Sales capacity, supporting our Sports and Entertainment vertical. This role combines 5+ years of technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring you to design, present, and oversee the implementation of large-scale public venue networks.

You will work closely with Sales Account Executives and travel to customer sites to present network design methodologies, showcase our competitive advantages, and demonstrate technical competency. We seek individuals who are flexible, adaptable, and willing to push beyond their comfort zone to deliver exceptional customer solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and oversee the implementation of complex network solutions for sports and entertainment venues
• Prepare and deliver compelling customer presentations to executive, management, and technical audiences
• Represent Extreme Networks at trade shows, seminars, industry events, and customer briefings
• Analyze customer requirements and architect solutions that effectively position Extreme Networks products against competitive alternatives
• Demonstrate Extreme Networks products and clearly articulate competitive advantages and technical differentiation
• Manage complex customer interactions, navigate challenging circumstances, and maintain high customer satisfaction
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Support, Product) to ensure seamless project delivery
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in live customer environments

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in network engineering, systems design, or pre-sales
• Expert-level knowledge of 802.11 Wi-Fi technologies and wireless network design
• Strong background in wired, wireless, and security networking technologies with proven competitive industry experience
• Demonstrated ability to influence customer decisions and effectively displace competitive solutions
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard network toolsets (Ekahau, Hamina, NetScout, or equivalent)
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills in enterprise network environments
• Strong understanding of network and systems security design principles, implementation, and analysis
• Excellent technical communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work independently and coordinate effectively across cross-functional teams
• Willingness and ability to travel within assigned region up to 60%
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry wireless certifications (CWTS®, CWNA®, CWDP®, CWAP®, or equivalent)
• Experience with Extreme Networks products and solutions
• Track record of success in sports, entertainment, or venue-based networking projects
