Supply Chain Assistant (Remote, UK-Based Employer)

The Supply Chain Assistant will support a UK-based business in managing purchase orders, supplier communications, and delivery schedules—ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fully remote role.

Suppliers may change orders or dates, but you will be the reliable point of contact, maintaining precise records and keeping the team informed. This role operates within UK business hours (09:00–17:00 UK time) from anywhere in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise and track purchase orders from initiation to delivery
• Chase suppliers for order confirmations and delivery updates
• Maintain up-to-date supplier records, including pricing and lead time data
• Assist in demand and stock planning with accurate reporting
• Resolve delivery shortages and invoice discrepancies with suppliers
• Organize and ensure traceability of all supply chain documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience in purchasing, supply chain, or order administration
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and reporting
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers via email and phone
• Sharp attention to detail regarding quantities, pricing, and deadlines
• Capacity to manage a high volume of open orders efficiently

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, NetSuite, or Sage
• Understanding of lead times and reorder point logistics
• Experience handling import or freight documentation
