The Role

At The Wall Street Quants, we prepare engineers, physicists, and mathematicians to transition into quantitative finance roles such as hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, and market makers. As a Quantitative Finance Advisor, your primary responsibility is to conduct scheduled consultations with prospective students who have already engaged with our program.

Your time will be divided as follows:

  • 80% of your time is spent in scheduled consultations with prospects who have attended a full session about the program and requested a follow-up call.
  • The remaining 20% involves following up with prospects still deciding, confirming appointments, and addressing questions between calls.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting consultations of 20 to 35 minutes with prospective students.
  • Providing a credible and honest assessment of whether the program aligns with their career goals.
  • Presenting pricing and payment options confidently.
  • Handling objections professionally regarding cost, timing, risk, and self-doubt.
  • Guiding opportunities through to a decision, regardless of the outcome.
  • Ensuring all appointments are confirmed and opportunities remain current in the CRM.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess 2+ years of experience selling financial products or services, such as brokerage, fintech, trading, wealth management, insurance, or lending.
  • Have a genuine working knowledge of financial markets and career paths within them. While deep quant knowledge is a plus, it is not a requirement.
  • Demonstrate strong sales skills, including the ability to run a real conversation, uncover the truth of what someone wants, handle objections on cost, timing, and confidence, and ask for a decision.
  • Be a great student who takes feedback and applies it immediately. Weekly coaching from recorded calls is provided.
  • Possess fluent, natural English with a clear accent that does not require extra concentration from US listeners.
  • Be available Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Eastern.
  • Have a professional video setup, including a 1080p webcam at eye level, a headset with a dedicated microphone, a tidy and uncluttered background, and front-facing lighting. Laptop webcams and earbuds are not sufficient.
  • Ensure you have wired broadband with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload, plus a mobile hotspot as backup.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM habits, logging every conversation and keeping every opportunity current.

WallStreetQuants (operating at thewallstreetquants.com) is a quant-focused education platform designed to accelerate the careers of aspiring quantitative analysts and traders. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in New York, WallStreetQuants bridges the gap between theoretical finance knowledge and institutional-grade skills required to thrive in top-tier hedge funds, high-frequency trading (HFT) firms, and proprietary trading environments. Unlike traditional finance programs that lack hands-on application, WallStreetQuants delivers a structured bootcamp blending quant research, algorithmic trading, and interview preparation—all taught by former quants from elite Wall Street firms managing billions in assets. The curriculum covers core topics like statistical arbitrage, machine learning for markets, and portfolio optimization, while also simulating real-world trading challenges. This empowers STEM professionals and career-switchers to break into competitive quant roles with confidence. Though unfunded, the platform leverages its industry pedigree to deliver a rigorous, results-driven learning experience tailored to the demands of modern quantitative finance.
