QA Engineer – Banking

The Role

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our Banking team and help establish and strengthen dedicated QA practices within the team.

As a QA Engineer – Banking, you will ensure the quality and reliability of our Core Banking and Payment platforms. Your focus will be on automated and manual testing, particularly API, backend, integration, and transaction flows. This hands-on role involves identifying issues early, improving test coverage, and ensuring our banking services are stable, reliable, and customer-ready.

You will take ownership of QA activities, deeply understand systems, and contribute to fostering a strong quality mindset within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end functional, integration, regression, and system testing for Core Banking and Payment platforms.
• Build and maintain automated tests using Python (PyTest) and end-to-end browser automation tools like Cypress and Playwright.
• Create and execute test cases based on new feature implementations.
• Participate in refinement sessions and provide QA input early in the development lifecycle.
• Prepare detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data, and coverage.
• Conduct API and backend testing, ensuring correct system behavior and data integrity.
• Perform manual testing when needed to ensure full test coverage.
• Analyze logs and system flows to identify issues and understand root causes.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear evidence and reproducible steps.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to improve quality and delivery.
• Contribute to delivering stable and reliable software in a complex banking environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of QA automation experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Python
• PyTest
• Cypress
• Playwright
• Strong experience in functional and integration testing.
• Experience with API and backend testing.
• Experience testing payment or transaction flows and validating system behavior and data integrity.
• Good understanding of payment processing, balances, and transaction data.
• Ability to design and structure clear, maintainable test cases.
• Strong debugging skills, including working with logs and system behavior.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Core Banking, Payments, FinTech, or e-commerce platforms.
• Experience with EUR and/or GBP payment flows.
• Understanding of ledger and balance management.
• Experience with transaction flows or distributed systems.
• Exposure to cloud-based environments or microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git.
