Purchasing Assistant (Remote, UK-Based Employer)

Remote Recruitment is hiring a Purchasing Assistant for a UK-based employer, fully remote from South Africa. You will own the purchase order trail for a UK business — orders raised correctly, suppliers chased, and deliveries matched to paperwork.

A good fit if you like chasing detail to a clean finish, enjoy working with suppliers, and want a long-term career with a UK business from home in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and track purchase orders against approved requests
• Chase suppliers on order confirmations and delivery dates
• Match invoices to orders and flag discrepancies
• Maintain supplier records and price lists
• Prepare simple spend and order reports
• Support the buying team with quotes and comparisons

What you'll need

• Experience in a purchasing, procurement or accounts administration role
• Confident with Excel or Google Sheets
• Accurate with numbers and document matching
• Strong written and spoken English
• A reliable fibre connection, a working laptop and a quiet place to work

Nice to have

• Familiarity with an ERP or purchasing system such as Sage, SAP, or NetSuite
• Experience dealing with UK or European suppliers
• Exposure to stock or inventory records
