Join our Energy Efficiency team as a Project Manager I and play a key role in delivering impactful energy efficiency and rebate programs that help utilities, businesses, and communities achieve their sustainability goals. In this role, you'll manage rebate processing workflows, identify and resolve challenges, support invoicing and reporting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive successful program outcomes.

This position is a remote opportunity, but applicants must reside in the Pittsburgh, PA Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate, plan, and deliver assigned rebate program projects or project elements to scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Assist with the development of work plans, sets milestones and interim deadlines, tracks task progress, and ensures timely completion of deliverables.
  • Monitor rebate application queues to validate accurate and timely processing.
  • Escalate program challenges and risks to Senior Project Managers, Associate Directors, or Directors as appropriate.
  • Prepare and coordinate invoicing and monthly reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Track project progress and communicate status updates to internal leadership and external clients.
  • Support financial tracking by monitoring project timelines and deliverable completion to align with billing milestones.
  • Communicate regularly with utilities, contractors, market actors, and other external stakeholders regarding programs using approved communication guidelines.
  • Clarify program requirements and application processes and resolve stakeholder inquiries in alignment with customer-service expectations and program guidelines.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and validate compliance with program guidelines and client requirements.
  • Coordinate resources as needed to support program delivery.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines and client expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, engineering, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in project coordination, consulting support, program administration, or a related role.
  • Experience supporting project activities or deliverables within defined scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Exposure to working on project teams, including tracking tasks, maintaining documentation, and supporting timelines.
  • Experience coordinating with internal team members or external stakeholders to gather information, support deliverables, and respond to requests.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to interact professionally with internal partners and external clients and support presentations or meetings.
  • Foundational technical writing skills, including drafting project documentation, summaries, and status updates.
  • Strong organizational skills, including task tracking, documentation management, and meeting deadlines under direction.
  • Basic project management skills, including following project plans, tracking milestones, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to prepare reports, trackers, and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while following guidance, processes, and priorities set by senior staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control practices, including reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.
  • An intermediate Excel skill assessment will be required as part of the interview process.
