Principal Scrum Master

Role Overview:

The Principal Scrum Master leads agile delivery across multiple teams to build enterprise solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and expectations. This role is accountable for leading a team of Scrum Masters and delivering leadership as organizational needs grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads agile delivery at an enterprise level, partnering with Data Architecture, Software Engineering, Business Information Management, Analytics, and Business teams to deliver complex solutions supporting WelbeHealth’s strategic priorities.
• Shapes and matures how WelbeHealth delivers technology and data solutions, establishing agile practices, coaching Scrum teams and leaders, identifying systemic impediments, and driving continuous improvement.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Manage agile solution development and delivery, promoting iterative and rapid value delivery
• Foster an agile mindset across the organization, training teams on agile methodologies
• Guide Scrum teams to follow Agile/Scrum practices, ensuring prioritization, team readiness, and sprint commitment
• Use empirical data to assess Scrum maturity, optimize team velocity, and identify improvement opportunities
• Proactively address systemic impediments to team agility and guide escalation methods
• Partner with Product teams for continuous backlog refinement and agile implementation of data and information engineering projects
• Liaison with Business and Technical teams to identify process improvements and facilitate scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, stand-ups, reviews)

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in software engineering, project management, data execution, delivery, software engineering, and analytics engineering solutions, especially managing high-visibility, ambiguity, and complexity projects
• Minimum of 3 years of practicing agile Scrum Master experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution delivery leadership, especially information management, data engineering, analytics delivery (Kanban), and simplifying operational workflows
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale initiatives focused on driving strategic business objectives through application and data architecture solutions
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure DevOps strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mentoring and developing Scrum team members strongly preferred
