About the Role: This role owns email and lifecycle marketing across three properties: Shadow (priority), Darkroom, and the CEO’s personal newsletter. The team publishes high-volume content across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, a podcast, and a creator program, with minimal email integration. Your mission is to build and execute email funnels from first touch to signup, prioritizing Shadow first, followed by Darkroom and the CEO’s newsletter.

Shadow is the priority. You’ll build a direct funnel from creator posts or LinkedIn content to email capture, nurture, and signup—tracking which content drives conversions. For Darkroom, you’ll manage prospect and client nurture by service line, ensuring leads from case studies or events land in tailored sequences. For the CEO’s newsletter, you’ll convert LinkedIn/X audiences into an owned list with a high-retention format.

This is a B2B lifecycle role with long sales cycles (weeks) and multi-stakeholder decisions. You’ll report to the VP of Marketing, collaborating with a designer, video editor, Marketing Ops & Social Media Manager, and an AI analytics layer. Your focus is strategy, flows, and copy—not design or video. You’ll run webinars, demo follow-ups, and brief assets for external teams.

This is a fully remote role supporting the EST time zone, hiring for candidates in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain.

Key Responsibilities:

Shadow Lifecycle (Priority):

  • Build end-to-end funnels: creator/LinkedIn post → email capture → nurture → signup, with analytics to track conversion drivers.
  • Own onboarding, activation, and product education sequences for new Shadow signups.
  • Run pre-event follow-ups for demos, webinars, and launches (sequences built before events).

Darkroom & CEO’s Newsletter:

  • Create prospect/client nurture sequences by service line, aligning content with the touchpoint that brought them in.
  • Develop strategy for the biweekly newsletter, collaborating with Marketing Ops for deployment.
  • Convert the CEO’s LinkedIn/X audience into an owned list with capture, welcome sequences, and retention-focused cadences.
  • Supply sales teams with actionable follow-up sequences.

Lists, Copy & Reporting:

  • Manage segmentation, list hygiene, deliverability, and compliance across all three properties.
  • Write all copy—this role blends email writing and flow design.
  • Report on signup/pipeline impact (not just opens/clicks) and document flows for team access.

Requirements:

  • Deep B2B expertise: Understanding of multi-stakeholder, multi-touch sales cycles.
  • Proven lifecycle/email program experience: Built flows end-to-end, not just briefed them.
  • Platform-agnostic: Experience with Substack, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, or beehiiv (tool knowledge secondary to strategy).
  • Funnel optimization skills: Analyze drop-off points and write targeted emails to fix them.
  • Strong writing: Direct, specific voice aligned with Darkroom’s brand.
  • Multi-audience agility: Manage software (Shadow), agency (Darkroom), and personal brand (newsletter) audiences weekly.
  • AI-native mindset: Excited to integrate AI for analytics, drafting, and workflow automation.
  • Ownership mindset: Build functions from scratch with minimal existing infrastructure.

Bonus:

  • Hands-on ESP experience (Klaviyo, HubSpot, beehiiv, Substack, Mailchimp).
  • SaaS/software marketing to business audiences.
  • Agency, ecommerce, or performance marketing background.
  • Built a newsletter or owned audience independently.
  • Familiarity with Notion for workflow management.
