Job Description
Key Skills Required
Master these to land this role
Want to know if you're a match for this job?
INSHUR is the embedded insurance powerhouse for the on-demand world. We partner with giants like Uber and Amazon to provide fair, data-backed coverage for the modern workforce. We’re 200 people strong across the UK, US, and Netherlands, using AI as a multiplier to stay ahead of the curve.
The role
As our Insurance Operations Associate, you will be the ultimate 'Swiss Army knife' for our Dutch and European operations. You will start by taking ownership of our broker and direct customer support as those portfolios run off. As that volume drops toward the end of the year, your role will rapidly expand into a broad operational powerhouse, helping us launch new products, enhance reporting, prep for regulatory audits, and build decks for major partner meetings.
This role reports directly to our Netherlands Director and sits within a lean, high-impact team. We're hiring for 100% remote within the Netherlands, with the opportunity to occasionally work in our Brighton, UK office for team building and social events.
What you'll do
Enable Product Launches: Assist the Director in rolling out new commercial insurance products and navigating major end-of-year pricing revamps.
Safeguard Compliance: Manage our complaints register, ensuring escalations and acknowledgments meet strict Dutch regulatory timelines.
Support Strategic Partnerships: Build out slide decks and prepare essential materials for our monthly partner and capacity provider meetings.
Temporarily take Front-Line Operations: Take complete ownership of incoming broker and customer inquiries, providing pragmatic, action-oriented support until the end of the year.
Context Switch Daily: Move seamlessly between answering a broker email, assisting the marketing team, and prepping data for an upcoming internal audit.
What we're looking for
We care more about how you think than what's on your CV. If you meet most of the essentials and are excited about the role, apply.
Essential
Fluent in Dutch and English: You will be communicating daily with local Dutch partners and our broader global team in the UK and US.
Core Insurance Knowledge: You understand the anatomy of an insurance policy (conditions, exclusions, schedules) and know the difference between an MGA and a broker.
High Agency & Autonomy: You don't wait to be told what to do; you get your hands dirty and figure it out.
AI Advocate: You’ll know how AI can make a difference to your day-to-day and are happy building and experimenting.
Adaptability: You thrive in a scale-up environment where your duties will shift dramatically as the company hits new milestones.
Nice to have
Insurtech / Tech Platform Experience: You understand how technology gives an edge over legacy insurers (though candidates looking to escape siloed, legacy environments are highly encouraged to apply).
Excel Proficiency: You are comfortable managing tracking documents and registers.
How team uses AI
Whether you're new to AI or already building with it, we give everyone the tools, time, and support to grow. AI is a multiplier in our insurance team; it handles the repetitive tasks so you can focus on the work that actually needs you.
We also use AI tools to support our hiring process—not to make decisions, but to help us run a fairer, faster process.
What to expect from the process
Screen: A 30-minute call with the Talent team. We'll cover the role, your background, and your questions.
First interview: A 45-60 minute video call with our Netherlands Director and a member of our People Team to dive into your insurance knowledge, agility, and ways of working.
Final stage: A 45–60 minute interview with the Netherlands Director and team member to present and discuss a recent project.
We design this to be a two-way conversation. Come with questions—we want you to leave knowing whether this is the right move for you.
What we offer
Salary €40,000-45,000, depending on experience, plus stock options for every employee.
30 days of holiday annually, plus bank holidays.
Private healthcare premium reimbursement for you and your family.
Workplace pension scheme to help you save for retirement.
Flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle.
€580 annual personal training allowance plus regular learning opportunities on a variety of topics.
€45 monthly wellbeing to keep you healthy.
Access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
Unlimited AI usage with Claude and Gemini.
Working here
You'll do well here if you:
🚀 Move through ambiguity without waiting for a perfect brief.
👊 Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks.
⚡ Adapt quickly when priorities shift, and help others do the same.
🔧 Look for ways to improve how things work, not just how to complete them.
🧠 Use tools, data, and colleagues to make better decisions.
This probably isn't the right fit if you:
📋 Prefer clearly defined processes and a stable, slow-moving environment.
🚧 Are most comfortable staying within the boundaries of your job description.
🔄 Find frequent context-switching draining rather than energizing.
