About Sureel AI

Sureel AI is building the infrastructure for AI rights, licensing, attribution, protection, and intelligence, starting in music and expanding across media. We enable creators and rights holders to control how their work is used by AI, protect their rights, understand its use and value, and participate in new AI licensing models. We also provide AI companies and digital platforms with systems for accessing rights, permissions, attribution, guardrails, reporting, and licensing infrastructure programmatically.

Acquired by Warner Music Group, Sureel operates as an independent, federated company, combining startup speed with the reach of a global music company.

Your Role

Reporting to Co-President Aileen Crowley, you will be the marketing counterpart to our product, commercial, and client functions, owning category positioning, product marketing, thought leadership, demand generation, and brand.

As our first dedicated marketing hire, you will own Sureel's voice, strategy, and execution across channels. The focus is on reaching the right audiences—rights holders, DSPs, AI companies, and other organizations critical to Sureel's growth.

You will develop distinct narratives for each side of the ecosystem while maintaining a coherent Sureel brand and category. You'll translate Sureel's product architecture, industry frameworks, research, and standards work into clear, compelling stories that shape how the industry understands AI rights and licensing.

A core part of the role involves category creation: establishing the language, concepts, narratives, and proof points for AI rights and licensing, and positioning Sureel within this category.

You will also determine Sureel's public presence, focusing on channels, events, communities, and forums where our audiences engage.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Sureel's marketing function end-to-end, including category strategy, positioning, messaging, product marketing, demand generation, thought leadership, brand, and execution.

  • Own product marketing across the Sureel stack, translating technical capabilities into clear value propositions, use cases, differentiation, and messaging for each customer segment.

  • Create sales and executive materials, including pitches, case studies, demos, and other collateral.

  • Build targeted demand among organizations critical to Sureel, prioritizing qualified rights holders, AI companies, platforms, and ecosystem partners.

  • Build communication channels and programs to educate, nurture, and activate key audiences, including targeted email campaigns.

  • Lead thought leadership across Sureel and the broader AI rights and licensing landscape, simplifying complex concepts for industry decision-makers.

  • Develop Sureel's brand and market positioning, creating a clear and consistent identity across audiences and channels.

  • Own event and industry presence, identifying key conferences, forums, and communities to advance adoption, partnerships, or awareness.

  • Turn pilots, integrations, partner outcomes, research, and product data into proof points and case studies demonstrating Sureel's value.

  • Track market framing by analyzing how AI companies, rights holders, regulators, standards bodies, competitors, and media discuss AI rights and licensing, refining Sureel's positioning accordingly.

  • Support leadership on announcements, conferences, and PR, collaborating with Warner Music Group's brand and communications teams.

  • Manage agency, influencer, and creative partners, ensuring alignment with Sureel's brand and budget.

  • Create repeatable marketing systems, including templates, timelines, budgets, and performance tracking.

  • Oversee compelling demo videos and creative work that clearly communicate Sureel's products and value.

  • Handle confidential and proprietary information with discretion and integrity.

Who You Are:

  • You have deep experience in marketing, product marketing, category creation, or communications across music, media, enterprise technology, or infrastructure.

  • You've owned marketing for a brand or platform, taking work from strategy through execution and measuring results.

  • You understand the music industry and how artists, labels, publishers, and platforms communicate.

  • You're comfortable with data and financial detail, building and managing detailed marketing budgets while using judgment beyond the numbers.

  • You are a strong storyteller who can make complicated technical concepts clear, relevant, and engaging.

  • You build trust quickly, make good judgment calls around voice and messaging, and know when to escalate.

  • You communicate clearly in writing and in person and can stay calm in a fast-moving environment.

  • You are interested in music, media, and AI and enjoy working in a small, collaborative, startup-paced team.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience as a first or early marketing hire, building functions and processes from scratch.

  • Experience marketing to artists, labels, publishers, B2B platforms, or infrastructure companies.

  • A track record of building awareness and adoption within a focused B2B, technology, or industry ecosystem.

  • Experience running email marketing programs.

  • Active involvement in the conversation around AI and music.

  • Experience marketing APIs, infrastructure, enterprise software, rights technology, marketplaces, or products involving multiple senior stakeholders in the buying process.

  • Experience turning technical standards, policy developments, research, or emerging industry frameworks into compelling market narratives.

Warner Music Group

View Company Profile

Warner Music Group (operating under wmg.com, legally Warner Music Group Corp.) is the premier, enterprise-grade global music entertainment conglomerate, recorded music and publishing pioneer, and media distribution powerhouse engineered to operate as the definitive, high-velocity creative cultivation, intellectual property monetization, and multi-platform content streaming layer for iconic recording artists and songwriters worldwide. Originally founded in 1958 as Warner Bros. Records to capture high-margin soundtrack assets for the legendary film studio, the multinational media force completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of modern entertainment operations—where independent creators and catalog estates face fractured cross-border licensing rails, complex digital rights management overhead, and low streaming visibility across fragmented global audio platforms—by deploying a sophisticated, technology-powered music, media, and tech ecosystem. Moving far beyond traditional, passive physical label structures, WMG natively unifies iconic major labels (including Atlantic Records, Warner Records, Elektra Entertainment, and Parlophone), an elite independent artist services arm (ADA), a global production music infrastructure, and the world third-largest music publishing network (Warner Chappell Music) into a single high-availability media enterprise. Commanded by Chief Executive Officer Robert Kyncl, the corporation operates as a public-market titan (NASDAQ: WMG) processing over $6 billion in annual digital and physical revenues while steering partnerships in generative AI protections and user-generated audio optimization. Under the hood, its technology framework utilizes advanced behavioral audience analytics, localized automated royalty distribution models, secure asset-vault tracking, and algorithmic marketing infrastructure built to manage a massive global catalog spanning millions of compositions with absolute performance precision. What sets Warner Music Group apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing legacy, paper-driven industry structures with absolute data-driven operational predictability, tech-centric artist empowerment, and dynamic brand synchronization; by bridging the gap between performance-intensive structural streaming tech and the deeply creative, cultural impact of commercial music, the enterprise remains the definitive cornerstone of modern algorithmic media operations and global entertainment marketplace transformation.
