About the Role

The Accounting team is hiring a proactive and motivated Financial Reporting Manager/Sr. Manager. This role focuses on external and internal financial reporting, corporate ledger accounts, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure accurate financial disclosures and timely book closures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage quarterly 10-Qs and annual 10-Ks for SEC compliance, including disclosures, footnotes, MD&A, and 8-Ks/earnings releases.
• Generate monthly financial reports for regulatory and credit stakeholders.
• Lead month-end closing by owning key corporate-level accounts.
• Collaborate with team members to produce financial reports and ensure accuracy.
• Create, review, and validate journal entries in the General Ledger (GL) with supporting schedules.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheets, investigating aged or unreconciled items.
• Investigate and resolve historical and current revenue transaction issues.
• Implement accounting guidance for new standards or initiatives.
• Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely reviews and audits.
• Educate colleagues on financial practices, policies, and implications.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis to business leaders and key partners.
• Mentor and support junior team members in accounting practices.

Qualifications

• A degree in accounting or finance.
• 5-7 years of experience in an accounting firm or in-house at a company.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Proven expertise in U.S. GAAP.
• Working knowledge of Workiva.
• Adaptability to frequent changes in the business environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (data sets, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUP), with SQL experience a plus.
• Experience with Netsuite is a plus.
• Experience working at a public company.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset focused on process improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in financial technology, mortgage banking, or lending is a plus.
