Estimating & Design Lead — US Commercial Landscaping (Remote)

This role focuses on **estimating** and **design support** for a growing commercial landscaping company. The position is remote but requires core U.S. business hours for coordination with sales, estimators, and field leadership.

Core Responsibilities

The primary goal is to transform site plans, specifications, and property details into accurate, defensible estimates and proposals. Speed is critical—most proposals should be delivered within **72 hours** of request.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimating:
• Review site plans, specifications, and photos to scope landscaping and maintenance work accurately.
• Build detailed cost estimates covering materials, plants, labor, equipment, and timelines.
• Convert quote requests into polished proposals efficiently.
• Track every estimate from request to delivery and follow-up in the CRM.
• Design Support:
• Apply landscape/design expertise to proposals, including plant selection, layout logic, and identifying client needs.
• Flag inconsistencies or missing details in scopes that may lead to client questions.
• Proactively estimate high-fit properties before formal requests are made.
• Coordination:
• Collaborate closely with onsite sales, estimators, and field leadership to ensure seamless workflows.
• Prepare for site visits by researching properties, reviewing past scopes, and compiling notes/photos.
• Ensure no gaps exist between quote requests and proposal submissions.

This role is not for cold-calling or prospecting—those tasks are handled by the business development team.

Requirements

• Required:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, or landscape architecture.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, specifications, and property details to determine scope and cost.
• Professional-level written and spoken English.
• Availability during core U.S. business hours.
• Comfort with performance-based compensation, even without a sales background.
• A Strong Plus:
• Education or experience in architecture, landscape architecture, or design.
• Experience with commercial (not residential) landscaping or maintenance contracts.
• Familiarity with estimating software, CRM systems, or design tools like AutoCAD or SketchUp.

Ideal candidates are those with deep knowledge of landscaping and green spaces who can translate that expertise into fast, accurate estimates that secure contracts.

This role is not suited for individuals without hands-on landscape or green-space experience, regardless of design background.
