As an E-Commerce Manager (DTC), you’ll own and grow a major e-commerce marketplace, with a primary focus on Amazon and a secondary focus on Shopify. Responsibilities span product detail pages, advertising, inventory, forecasting, fulfillment, and performance management.

This role requires a blend of marketplace expertise and commercial/operational acumen. You’ll need to understand how traffic, product pages, conversion, advertising, inventory, replenishment, and revenue interconnect while ensuring the channel remains healthy and scalable.

End-to-End E-Commerce Management

  • Own day-to-day marketplace operations with a primary focus on Amazon.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Amazon channel.
  • Monitor channel performance and proactively identify issues and opportunities.
  • Maintain visibility across traffic, product detail pages, conversion, sales, inventory, and replenishment.
  • Understand how changes across the channel affect overall revenue performance.
  • Ensure the marketplace remains healthy, accurate, and operationally reliable.

Product Detail Page & Listing Optimization

  • Manage and optimize product listings and product detail pages.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information.
  • Improve product discoverability and conversion through effective listing optimization.
  • Monitor listing health and SKU performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product content and marketplace performance.
  • Bring strong marketplace expertise and proactively recommend improvements.

Amazon Advertising

  • Set up, monitor, and optimize Amazon advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor advertising performance and identify underperforming campaigns.
  • Manage advertising activity against broader sales objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Use advertising data to understand traffic and conversion performance.
  • Ensure advertising decisions are aligned with overall channel performance.

FBA Inventory & Replenishment

  • Monitor FBA inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
  • Identify stockout risks and potential inventory constraints.
  • Coordinate replenishment with relevant operational stakeholders.
  • Monitor lead times, aging inventory, and expected demand.
  • Maintain visibility into inventory movement and upcoming requirements.
  • Document important inventory and replenishment changes.
  • Ensure recurring inventory deadlines are met.

Forecasting & Demand Planning

  • Build and maintain monthly forecasts using actual performance, historical data, inventory, demand, sales activity, and relevant trends.
  • Monitor expected demand against available inventory and fulfillment capacity.
  • Update forecasts as business conditions change.
  • Clearly document assumptions behind forecasts.
  • Identify potential gaps between expected demand and available inventory.
  • Use forecasting to support better replenishment and channel decisions.

Month-End Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Reconcile sales, inventory movement, current inventory, forecast assumptions, and replenishment activity.
  • Monitor variances between expected and actual performance.
  • Investigate and explain material differences.
  • Provide clear visibility into where performance landed and why.
  • Use reconciliation findings to inform future forecasts and operational decisions.

Revenue Performance Management

  • Monitor progress against monthly revenue objectives.
  • Identify whether the channel is on track and, if not, understand why.
  • Determine which levers can improve performance, including advertising, product detail pages, inventory, replenishment, forecasting, and operations.
  • Turn channel performance data into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Maintain a commercial understanding of how operational decisions affect revenue.

Shopify & Cross-Functional Operations

  • Support Shopify operations as a secondary channel.
  • Maintain awareness of storefront and e-commerce activity outside Amazon.
  • Coordinate with operations, sales, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support inventory, forecasting, replenishment, fulfillment, and marketplace-related activities.
  • Ensure information and operational requirements are communicated clearly across functions.

You’ll collaborate closely with operations, sales, fulfillment, and cross-functional teams to align marketplace activity, inventory, forecasting, and execution. As the operational owner of the e-commerce channel, you’ll provide visibility into performance and proactively identify necessary changes to drive business growth.

At Oceans Talent, you’ll receive guidance from your Operations Manager to ensure your success and continuous career development.

We seek T-shaped individuals with deep expertise in one area and broad curiosity across the business. For this role, your vertical focus will be on Amazon marketplace management and e-commerce growth, while your horizontal focus includes advertising, inventory, forecasting, fulfillment, analytics, Shopify, and cross-functional operations.

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Amazon e-commerce operations, including Seller Central, FBA, marketplace growth, inventory, forecasting, and advertising.
  • Amazon: Meaningful hands-on experience independently operating Seller Central, beyond basic listing or administrative work.

  • Physical Products: Experience working with physical-product e-commerce businesses.
  • Operations: Strong understanding of the connection between marketplace activity, inventory, fulfillment, and revenue.
  • Organization: Strong deadline management and attention to recurring operational requirements.
  • Autonomy: Ability to take ownership of a channel and proactively identify what needs to be done without step-by-step supervision.

During the interview process, you’ll showcase your skills in:

  • Amazon Marketplace Management: Managing Seller Central and identifying opportunities to improve channel performance.
  • PDP & Conversion: Approaching product detail page optimization and marketplace conversion.
  • Amazon Advertising: Building, monitoring, and optimizing advertising activity.
