You are a seasoned revenue cycle leader with 10+ years of progressive experience in medical coding and billing, overseeing the full revenue cycle—from coding, billing, AR, payor contracts, to credentialing. You thrive in remote environments, prioritizing urgent tasks, managing multiple clients, and delivering accurate, timely results.

You excel at translating complex billing and financial information into actionable insights for practice owners, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations. Your focus is on improving financial health while supporting providers and patients.

Your Role

Oasis Health Partners is building a scalable Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) offering for independent and community-based primary care practices. As Director of Revenue Cycle Management, you will:

  • Own the full revenue cycle for MSO clients, including charge capture, coding, claim submission, payment posting, denials management, and AR follow-up.
  • Serve as a senior, trusted partner to practices, delivering monthly financial results and identifying opportunities.
  • Lead a large, distributed team of coders and billing staff, ensuring coding quality and compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and payor-specific guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Cycle Leadership

  • Direct all revenue cycle functions, including monitoring KPIs such as days in A/R, clean claim rate, denial rate, net collection rate, and first-pass resolution.
  • Identify revenue leakage and implement process improvements to raise collections and reduce write-offs.

Financial Reporting and Practice Performance

  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports covering charges, collections, adjustments, denials, A/R aging, and payor mix.
  • Analyze financial outcomes, including revenue trends, provider productivity, and performance against budgets and benchmarks.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and leadership.

Coding Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of coders and billing staff, including remote and distributed members.
  • Oversee coding quality through regular audits, education, and feedback.
  • Set productivity and accuracy standards, manage workloads, and build training programs.

Payor Contracts and Credentialing

  • Review and interpret payor contracts and fee schedules to identify underpayments and reimbursement opportunities.
  • Support or oversee provider enrollment and credentialing, ensuring clients and providers remain current with payors.
  • Serve as the escalation point for payor disputes, appeals, and reimbursement issues.

Client Relations

  • Act as a senior point of contact for client practices, reviewing monthly financial results and resolving concerns.
  • Support client onboarding and transitions, including workflow design and system setup.

Systems and Projects

  • Use EMR and practice management systems, particularly athenahealth and eClinicalWorks (eCW), to optimize workflows, reporting, and billing configuration.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, such as client implementations, system conversions, and process improvement initiatives.

Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations, including secure handling of PHI in a remote environment.

Investment In Our Team

Oasis invests in the personal and professional growth of its team, offering robust benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and generous time off plans. You will partner with professionals committed to high-value, high-impact patient care.

About You

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in medical coding and billing, with extensive hands-on knowledge of the full revenue cycle.
  • Deep knowledge of payor contracts, reimbursement methodologies, and denial and appeals processes.
  • Working knowledge of provider credentialing and payer enrollment.
  • Experience with EMR and practice management systems, particularly athenahealth and eClinicalWorks (eCW).
  • Experience preparing and presenting practice financial reports and analyzing financial performance.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large coding or billing teams, ideally in a remote setting.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of professionalism and the ability to work directly with clients and executives.
  • Self-motivated, with a secure home workspace and reliable high-speed internet.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in an MSO, billing company, or multi-practice environment.
  • Experience with athenahealth and eClinicalWorks (eCW).
  • CPC, CCS, CRCR, or similar certification.
  • Experience with value-based care or multi-specialty practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, business, or a related field.
