About Paddle: Paddle is a premier, internationally recognized financial technology powerhouse, developer infrastructure champion, and global SaaS scaling innovator on an absolute mission to protect digital product companies from the friction of modern payments management. Instead of forcing software companies to assemble, integrate, and manually maintain an incredibly complex stack of fragmented payments-related applications, compliance engines, subscription tools, and global tax calculators, Paddle serves as a comprehensive, unified Merchant of Record (MoR) for its clients. By taking away 100% of the structural pain associated with cross-border payment processing, currency localized pathing, and global data regulation hygiene, Paddle delivers an online payment experience that is significantly faster, safer, cheaper, and more scalable. Backed by elite global venture firms including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North, Paddle proudly powers more than 6,000 scaling software sellers across 245 countries and territories worldwide. Operating under a collaborative, high-trust “digital-first” philosophy that values extreme team autonomy, Paddle provides high-agency finance leaders with an uncompromised remote canvas to leverage state-of-the-art predictive technologies, direct platform-wide forecasting architectures, and engineer capital allocation models safely across the UK, Ireland, and Canada.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, commercially minded Director of FP&A to join our core centralized Finance department in a full-time remote capacity across the United Kingdom, Dublin (Ireland), or Toronto (Canada). In this high-leverage and high-autonomy executive seat reporting directly to our VP of Finance, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability for leading Paddle’s global financial planning and analysis function. Shifting completely away from routine standalone bookkeeping, reactive transactional accounting ledger entry, or passive historical report packaging, you will act as a principal corporate strategy architect—redesigning how FP&A operates at Paddle to drive performance across revenue growth, cost discipline, and deep capital allocation. You will serve as the core connective tissue between finance and our broader C-suite, managing the cadence by which our entire global firm plans, models, and forecasts. This position requires an enterprise tech or SaaS finance veteran who builds complex multi-tenant cohort matrices fluidly natively using Financial Analyst paradigms, directs end-to-end annual budgeting cycles smoothly natively using Project Management communication loops, and owns advanced corporate planning software platforms as a product lead.
Key Responsibilities
- FP&A Function Scale and Team Leadership: Build, mentor, develop, and scale a high-performance team of financial analysts, establishing clear operational direction, providing recursive coaching tracks, and optimizing team capacity to support our next chapter of growth.
- Cross-Functional Strategic Business Partnering: Partner in lockstep with distributed Go-To-Market (GTM), Product Management, and Engineering leaders natively utilizing Financial Analyst practices to build strong investment business cases, surface structural unit economics insights, and evaluate custom commercial deal desk requests.
- Enterprise-Tier Corporate Planning Lifecycle Ownership: Own, execute, and govern Paddle’s comprehensive end-to-end forecasting cycles—specifically driving the annual budget matrix, rolling monthly forecasts, and long-range corporate capital consolidation plans.
- Pigment Platform Product Management: Act as the absolute product owner and technical lead for our modern planning platform (Pigment), systematically building and improving automated 3-statement forecasting modules, multi-variant revenue models, and cloud data aggregation layers natively leveraging Project Management principles.
- Executive and Board-Level Communication Architecture: Co-author and design high-fidelity financial briefings and presentation decks for the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors, translating complex, non-deterministic performance data into highly structured, actionable strategic narratives.
- Business Review Framework Governance: Spearhead the Monthly Business Review (MBR) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) tracks, formatting standardized cross-department reporting packs and leading alignment discussions to equip leadership with prioritized action keys.
- Commercial Cohort and Incentive Modeling: Construct, audit, and analyze sophisticated revenue cohort tracking modules and performance commission mechanics, balancing technical mathematical rigor with commercial instincts to guide multi-million dollar growth investments.
- Recurring Workflow Automation and Optimization: Function as a systems thinker, continually auditing and automating recurring finance tasks to optimize team processing capacity, freeing resources to focus on high-signal project-based advisory tracks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Significant, verified professional history running advanced financial planning and analysis (FP&A) leadership, corporate finance division management, strategic investment advisory, or investment banking consulting.
- Mandatory Technology Sector Experience: Proven, documented history successfully managing corporate finance tracks within a high-growth SaaS platform, digital marketplace, or hyper-scale technology business.
- Proven, hands-on track record transforming a traditional, reporting-oriented finance division into a modern, business-impact driven unit that actively steers executive decision-making.
- Expert-tier capability building scalable 3-statement financial models, compiling cohort decay graphs, and tracking SaaS performance indicators (LTV, CAC, Net Retention) natively utilizing Financial Analyst rules.
- Practical operational familiarity organizing multi-department project trackers, establishing reporting timelines, and directing cross-functional executive alignment sessions natively using Project Management protocols.
- Demonstrated history of effective use and progressive, hands-on architectural configuration of modern enterprise cloud planning suites (with explicit preference for Pigment platform mastery, or alternative tools such as Anaplan).
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication attributes in fluent English, enabling absolute confidence and persuasive consultative influence when presenting data before C-suite executives, VPs, and institutional boards.
- Location Context: Position open to qualified finance leaders based permanently and resident within the United Kingdom, **Dublin (Ireland)**, or **Toronto (Canada)** to operate under a 100% remote digital-first framework, with optional physical access to our regional hubs.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial finance history operating explicitly inside an international fintech software company, payment gateway provider, or high-volume global clearing house.
- Possession of formal, industry-vetted professional credentials, such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Accountant (CA) badge.
- An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in intense data curiosity, an obsession with operational simplicity, a self-managing work ethic, and a passionate drive to turn financial modeling into real business growth.
What We Offer
- Elite International FinTech Salaried Blueprint: A premium, highly competitive full-time base salary package calibrated precisely to evaluate your financial authority, modeling craftsmanship, and strategic leadership depth, supplemented by lucrative corporate stock option grants.
- The exceptional professional canvas to claim absolute ownership over the FP&A models power-routing performance for a global market leader serving over 6,000 sellers.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering a 100% digital-first remote setting across the UK, Ireland, and Canada, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction.
- Access to elite vacation and family provisions, featuring an uncompromised **Unlimited Holiday Allocation** policy paired with enhanced paid parental leave protections.
- Access to elite personal and career enrichment track tools, including a dedicated **Annual Learning Fund** to finance external training, personal mentorship tracks, and constant exposure to scaling milestones.
- Immediate baseline access to premium comprehensive corporate wellness protections, providing robust private healthcare benefits and dedicated mental well-being initiatives.
