Requirements

• Strong Software Engineering Foundation: Proficiency in Java and object‑oriented programming (OOP) patterns is essential. We are looking for an engineer‑first approach; strong programming skills are valued above experience with declarative tools alone.
• Cloud & DevOps Expertise: Solid hands‑on experience within the AWS ecosystem and working with Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proven experience with Pulumi (TypeScript). Note: If you have deep experience with Terraform and possess the strong software engineering background needed to quickly pick up Pulumi/TypeScript, we encourage you to apply.
• Problem‑Solving Mindset: Driven by curiosity and a “self‑serve” attitude. We need a natural problem solver who proactively digs into root causes rather than waiting for instructions.

Responsibilities

• Backfill day‑to‑day operations by troubleshooting and resolving bugs in the Java backend application.
• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for AWS using Pulumi (in TypeScript), applying solid Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Support the database modernization team with specific tasks as they arise, such as creating and running load‑testing scripts for the new AWS Aurora database.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes environments and handle reactive platform tickets to free up the internal core team.
