Your role will be to procure and sell recycled plastics, with a particular focus on PET (rPET). You will work closely with local and global teams, communicating daily with colleagues worldwide. A highly collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset is essential for success in this position.
You will develop relationships with material suppliers and buyers, assess their capabilities to align with the company’s strategy and market demands. Managing ongoing negotiations, new opportunities, and customer development simultaneously requires a skilled business development executive who is results-driven and efficient with time management. Success is achieved through a disciplined and consistent approach to building relationships, utilizing the CRM, and proactively hunting for leads to maintain a full pipeline of opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development & Delivery
- Map the market and develop new suppliers and buyers from manufacturing (fibre, sheet, and film), recycling, and waste sectors.
- Assess client suitability against strategy, quality requirements, and size of opportunity.
- Develop purchasing contracts for regular volumes of waste and recycled materials, particularly PET or rPET.
- Execute sales for scrap and recycled PET (rPET) sourced from global locations to licensed manufacturers and recyclers.
- Actively seek out new opportunities through research, cold calling, networking, social media, attending conferences, and trade fairs.
- Maximize margin by employing effective negotiation techniques.
- Challenge customer views and counter objections to progress toward closing deals.
- Engage with the broader team to develop skills and share knowledge.
- Perform site visits to qualify, build relationships, and gather market information.
- Develop and enhance relationships through creativity, innovation, and tailored service responsiveness.
- Engage in constant and active risk management to ensure materials meet company and customer quality requirements.
Reporting & Management
- Keep detailed logs in CRM of all activities.
- Maintain accurate records of customer information in CRM, including material requirements.
- Provide feedback and market reports to management.
- Use knowledge of competitors and market trends to develop unique selling propositions.
- Contribute to developing standard operating procedures to mitigate risk and ensure seamless workflow.
