Role Overview:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing daily financial records, ensuring accuracy in all transactions, and supporting the client’s accounting operations. This role requires a detail oriented and organized professional who is confident using tools such as Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks Online, or similar accounting software. You will help maintain clear financial visibility for the client through timely reporting, reconciliations, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day to day financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Support month end and year end closing processes
- Maintain an organized chart of accounts and digital documentation
- Assist in budget tracking, cash flow monitoring, and expense reporting
- Coordinate with external accountants for audits, compliance, and tax filing
- Identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2 to 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks Online, or similar accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial analysis tools
- High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to adapt to different client workflows and business environments
