Brightline is redefining pediatric behavioral health care for families across the U.S. and is seeking a fully remote Behavioral Health Coach to deliver 1:1 coaching via video and chat, support families in building essential skills, and collaborate closely with therapists and psychiatric providers.

This role focuses on helping caregivers, children, and teens manage daily challenges through structured, evidence-based programs. Coaches do not provide clinical supervision or licensure but work alongside Brightline’s clinical team to foster skill development and improve family well-being.

Location & Schedule

Open to candidates in any U.S. state. Coaches work one of two fixed shifts: 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Why This Role

With 1 in 5 kids facing behavioral health conditions, yet up to 80% receiving little or no help, Brightline’s coaches often serve as the first point of connection for families. Coaches leverage digital tools and structured programs to reduce administrative burdens, allowing them to focus on delivering personalized support.

Additionally, coaches contribute to shaping workshops, classes, and educational content that extend beyond 1:1 care, ensuring broader impact for families.

Responsibilities

Coaching & Care Delivery

  • Deliver 1:1 coaching via video and asynchronous chat using Brightline’s structured, evidence-based programs.
  • Teach practical coping strategies and help families set and track SMART goals to reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Provide timely chat support between sessions and document interactions accurately and promptly.

Care Team Partnership

  • Act as a liaison between families and their therapy and psychiatry providers.
  • Guide families through the Brightline app and connect them to appropriate care levels.
  • Recognize and escalate safety concerns following Brightline protocols, including mandated reporting.

Family Education & Program Development

  • Collaborate with Brightline teams to develop and lead workshops, group classes, and educational content.
  • Share insights from family interactions to improve programs and tools.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in psychology or a related field (or expected completion within 12 months).
  • NBC-HWC, ICF, or NCHEC certification plus 5+ years of relevant experience, including direct service in behavioral health.
  • 1+ year of experience in behavioral health, with expertise in child- and family-focused CBT, motivational interviewing, and SMART goal setting.
  • 1+ year of experience working with children, youth, or families.
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Commitment to evidence-based behavior change and openness to feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for children and teens.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and independent with a warm, compassionate, nonjudgmental approach.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and adapt in a fast-growing environment.
  • Access to a private, quiet workspace and reliable high-speed internet for confidential video sessions.
  • Preferred: Experience in digital health coaching.

Benefits, Perks & Stipends

Brightline offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Health coverage: Medical, Dental, Vision insurance, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and 401(k).
  • Time to recharge: 12 Company Holidays, Floating Holidays, Paid Time Off, and a company-wide Holiday Shutdown.
