Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager that is excited about the below Mission and Outcomes.

Mission:

Oversee a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of accounting and tax services. Lead a team of junior and senior accountants to achieve high client satisfaction.

Outcomes:

• Provide accounting and tax services to a portfolio of Australian startup and SME clients
• Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients
• Prepare and submit BAS
• Prepare and submit tax returns
• Provide supervision and control for remote bookkeeping clients
• Advise and engage with clients on various accounting and taxation matters
• Hire, train, nurture, and grow a team of like-minded accountants

To do this, you will have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a team of accountants servicing Australian clients.

We are looking for someone experienced within the following:

• Team management – hiring, training, nurturing a team of ambitious accountants
• Managing a portfolio of SME clients with scope ranging from bookkeeping to taxation services
• Excellent command of client communication and delivery organization

The Interview Process

The successful candidate will participate in the following interview stages. We anticipate the process to last no more than 3 weeks from start to finish.

Whether the interviews are held over video call or in person will depend on your location and the role.

Screening Interview

A ~30-minute screening call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team to discuss your background, evaluate mutual fit for the role, address expectations, and answer your questions.

Technical Round and Live Case Study

A ~60-minute session with the Hiring Manager, including a live case study to test your accounting skills and knowledge. They’ll also discuss your last 1-2 roles to understand your experience in more detail.

Behavioral/Soft Skills Round

A ~45-minute chat with a member of the leadership team, where they will dive into some of your recent work situations to understand how you think and work.

Reference Verification

Prior to final offer confirmation, we will conduct one professional reference check with your recent direct manager or supervisor. To keep the process moving smoothly, this step may be initiated during the final interview stages.

Requirement for Background Screening

Please be aware that Sleek is a regulated entity and as such is required to perform different levels of background checks on staff depending on their role.

This may include using external vendors to verify the following:

• Your education
• Any criminal history
• Any political exposure
• Any bankruptcy or adverse credit history
