Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptionally visionary, deeply technical, and execution-obsessed Vice President of Engineering to lead our distributed core platform and intelligence divisions under a permanent, full-time remote framework within India. Operating as a critical player-coach who has historically progressed through high-level individual contributor routes (such as Principal Engineer or Enterprise Software Architect), you will step up to claim absolute platform delivery speed, cloud architecture scaling, and cross-regional engineering execution accountability. Shifting completely away from distant administrative tracking, passive meeting moderation, or non-technical project management, you will run an active high-concurrency microservices, LLM agentic pipeline, and production infrastructure design laboratory—partnering face-to-face with peer engineering VPs, Director-level engineering leaders, cross-functional Product Heads, and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position requires an engineering authority with 14+ years of professional software depth who models complex distributed layers fluidly natively using AI Engineer and Go/Python frameworks, evaluates algorithm output accuracy metrics cleanly under high transactional stress, and directs global multi-timezone teams confidently across both US and India sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Delivery and Velocity Ownership: Direct total software delivery across your engineering domain, mapping multi-tier roadmaps, stabilizing scrum sprint cadences, ensuring high release quality, and managing complex cross-team technical dependencies.
  • AI-Native Architecture Strategy: Lead the engineering blueprint for integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), automated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) layers, and generative agentic workflows into production ecosystems natively utilizing AI Engineer protocols.
  • Rigorous Technical and Design Controls: Remain deeply hands-on by chairing core code architecture reviews, making high-stakes technical decisions, and defining company-wide standards for hallucination containment, token optimization, and cost governance.
  • Distributed Team Scale and Management: Supervise and grow a high-performance distributed engineering framework across the US and India, mentoring engineering Directors and Senior Managers into leaders who scale autonomously.
  • System Scalability and Observability: Establish and enforce bulletproof engineering benchmarks, supervising distributed system health, cloud infrastructure security (AWS preferred), automated test suites, and incident response runbooks.
  • Executive Strategy and Budgetary Governance: Represent the technical division at the executive level, contributing directly to resource investment matrices, tool expenditures, headcount planning, and infrastructure cloud cost optimization.
  • Enterprise Commitment Engineering: Partner actively with Sales and Customer Success divisions to address complex enterprise commitments, design rigid Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and resolve critical customer escalation paths.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 14 years of verified professional history in software engineering, with at least 5 years operating inside an explicit technical engineering leadership capacity.
  • Hyper-Growth Scale Track: Proven history leading and scaling software engineering teams through Series C or equivalent hyper-growth technological milestones.
  • Foundational IC Track Depth: Progressed cleanly through individual contributor tracks as a Principal Software Engineer, Core Tech Lead, or Systems Architect, demonstrating profound knowledge of distributed backend design parameters.
  • Hands-on Production AI Exposure: Direct, practical experience shipping production-grade AI/ML systems, including open-source LLMs, custom prompt frameworks, multi-step agent workflows, or Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) modules.
  • Masterful technical fluency managing cloud-native, high-availability microservices platforms (ideally utilizing AWS infrastructures).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication strengths in English, allowing you to interface authoritatively at the executive seat and present technical strategy clearly to the CEO and CTO.
  • Cross-Timezone Flexibility: Proven comfort operating fluidly across globally distributed teams intersecting US and India time zones.
  • Location Context: Position operates under remote geographic guidelines open exclusively to qualified technical executives residing and working permanently within India.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior engineering background operating within FinTech platforms, automated credit underwriting tools, or heavily regulated data-intensive industries.
  • Applied understanding of human-in-the-loop (HITL) or hybrid AI/human transaction checking software.
  • Experience designing and building interview machines, engineering career ladders, and modern developer onboarding playbooks from the ground up.
