The Vice President of Brand is responsible for leading Algolia’s global brand strategy and creative presence. This seasoned marketing leader will lead a team of in-house and agency creatives to develop a differentiated brand strategy, positioning Algolia as the company defining a new category – "Retrieval Intelligence" – within the Discovery Economy: every market where intent is matched against a large, fast-changing, economically valuable catalog.
As the VP of Brand, you will be responsible for Algolia’s visual identity and brand messaging, along with brand experiences that bring the brand to life for customers, partners, developers, and prospects – increasingly, for the AI agents and answer engines that now discover, evaluate, and recommend on their behalf.
The VP of Brand will own brand activations across target markets, verticals, and ICPs, translating strategy into brand campaigns that drive measurable increases in brand awareness, pipeline, and revenue growth. You will set the standard for what great brand execution looks like at Algolia, balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.
As a key member of the Marketing leadership team, you will work closely with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Field Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Sales, Developer Relations, Analyst Relations, and Customer Experience teams to ensure brand reach and consistency across the company, as well as ensuring brand reach via our partner ecosystem and customer base.
This is a role for a brand leader excited about the opportunity to define a category and build Algolia’s brand from the ground up as we establish ourselves as the leader in Retrieval Intelligence.
YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF:
- Develop and own Algolia’s global brand strategy, positioning, voice, and visual identity, ensuring alignment to GTM strategy and adherence across all segments, verticals, regions, and channels.
- Lead the planning and execution of brand campaigns and activations to produce measurable increases in brand awareness and meaningful impact to pipeline and revenue growth.
- Build, grow, and manage an in-house creative team to scale creative output.
- Own and optimize a portfolio of external agency relationships from selection and onboarding through performance management.
- Partner with the CMO and marketing leadership team to define how brand investment supports broader GTM and revenue goals.
- Drive brand adoption and consistency across internal teams, the partner ecosystem, and the customer base, acting as Algolia’s internal steward of brand standards.
- Establish brand health metrics and reporting that connect brand performance to business impact, and use that data to prioritize investment.
- Partner closely with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Field Marketing, and Corporate Communications to ensure brand campaigns are integrated into broader marketing and GTM programs.
- Manage the brand budget, balancing investment across campaigns, agencies, and internal team growth.
- Represent brand at the executive level, communicating strategy, results, and investment needs to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE:
- 10+ years of experience in brand strategy and brand marketing, with a track record of leading brand activations and campaign execution at global scale.
- Demonstrated success driving measurable increases in brand awareness that connect directly to business/performance outcomes.
- Experience building, growing, and managing in-house creative teams from the ground up.
- Extensive experience managing external creative and brand agencies, including scoping, selection, and performance accountability.
- Strong executive communication and collaboration skills, with experience operating as a key member of a marketing leadership team.
- A track record of driving brand adoption across complex, cross-functional organizations — including internal teams, partners, and customers.
- Experience in B2B SaaS marketing is a plus.
- Familiarity with brand tracking and measurement tools, and connecting brand metrics to pipeline/revenue systems.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience building a brand for a developer-facing, platform, or technical product company.
- Experience leading a brand through a major company milestone (IPO, acquisition, rebrand, or category creation).
- Global/international brand experience, including navigating regional nuance across NA, EMEA, and APAC.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Within your first year, you will successfully:
- Define and socialize Algolia’s global brand strategy and secure buy-in from the CEO, CMO, and GTM leadership team.
- Evolve the in-house creative team, with clear roles, workflows, and success KPIs aligned to the broader GTM strategy.
- Audit and refine a managed portfolio of creative/brand agencies with clear scope and performance expectations.
- Launch at least one flagship global brand campaign or activation with measurable awareness lift tied to pipeline impact.
- Build reliable and transparent brand health measurement and reporting to guide investment decisions and brand strategy.
- Become the go-to voice for brand consistency across internal teams, partners, and customer-facing programs.
- Be recognized as a trusted, high-impact member of the marketing leadership team.

Algolia
View Company ProfileAlgolia is a premier, enterprise-grade AI search and discovery powerhouse engineered to orchestrate massive-scale information-retrieval ecosystems and intelligent, frictionless content-navigation workflows. Operating as an "API-first" search-as-a-service hub, the company eliminates the operational friction of traditional, legacy search implementations—which frequently suffer from slow query-latency, poor typo-tolerance, and disconnected data-indexing pipelines—by seamlessly deploying advanced "NeuralSearch" telemetry, rigorous vector-based semantic search architectures, and cohesive cross-platform integration frameworks. Moving beyond rigid legacy keyword-search paradigms, Algolia empowers global enterprises—including leaders like Under Armour, Stripe, and Slack—to dynamically synchronize their product discovery, generative AI responses, and personalized user-journey pipelines with elite, scalable, and audit-ready execution. Under the hood, their sophisticated proprietary operational infrastructure—bolstered by 70+ global data centers and hyperscale indexing—natively manages complex global multi-region data ingestion, instantaneous automated relevance-optimization, and secure, compliance-hardened deployment workflows, providing the necessary operational foundation to support the modern, high-velocity AI-driven economy. What sets Algolia apart is its uncompromising dedication to frictionless "discovery-orchestration"; by bridging the gap between highly technical, performance-intensive retrieval demands and accessible, high-velocity developer-centric interfaces, the firm empowers modern commercial organizations to radically accelerate their search-to-conversion velocity, eliminate systemic relevance-bottlenecks, and build an unassailable foundation for continuous commercial and institutional success in the modern, AI-transformed global-technology landscape.
