As a Veterinary Account Manager, you’re the one person at Roo your vets know by name: the first call when something’s wrong, the advocate in the room when decisions affect them, and the reason they keep choosing Roo. You’ll spot risks before they become churn and directly grow the revenue line the company watches most.

The role blends genuine relationship building with a data-informed operating rhythm. You’ll work from booking data, engagement signals, and CRM insights to know each vet’s story, catch changes early, and decide where your week goes. You’ll also represent Roo in person through vet events, community programming, and conference presence.

Travel Requirement: Expect regular but predictable travel, quarterly vet dinners, occasional regional CE events, and one to two national conferences per year.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own a dedicated book of veterinarians as their primary relationship partner inside Roo, with clear retention and revenue goals.
  • Retain, engage, and grow shift volume for assigned vets through proactive relationship management.
  • Diagnose engagement drops using booking and activity data, determine whether the driver is schedule, supply, price, or relationship, and run the right play.
  • Act as liaison between vets and Roo teams to resolve issues, share feedback, and promote advocacy.
  • Build community connection through 1:1 conversations, local vet events, and conference programming.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track engagement and steer your week from the data rather than waiting for direction.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in account management, customer success, or sales.
  • Proven relationship builder with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM and data analysis tools (HubSpot, Zendesk).
  • Organized, adaptable, and self-directed: you manage multiple priorities and build your own week.
  • Experience in veterinary staffing or healthcare services preferred.

Location Note: While we are a remote-first company, if you are based in San Francisco, this will be a hybrid role. The territory you will be supporting will be West Coast based (CA).

Compensation Note: This role is eligible for variable compensation up to 15% based on performance.

Roo (operating at roo.vet) is a veterinary relief platform engineered for seamless staffing solutions in the animal care industry. Founded in 2019, Roo specializes in connecting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal hospitals for flexible relief work and hiring opportunities. Unlike traditional staffing models that rely on rigid schedules and limited networks, Roo transforms the way relief work gets done by leveraging a digital platform that streamlines bookings and matches professionals with hospitals in real time. Under the hood, the platform uses a user-friendly mobile app—available for both iOS and Android—to enable veterinarians, technicians, and hospitals to browse, book, and manage shifts effortlessly. This allows veterinary professionals to access a broader range of opportunities while hospitals gain access to a larger pool of qualified talent, ensuring better coverage and improved animal care. Backed by $11 million in Series A funding, Roo is positioned to expand its reach and further disrupt the veterinary staffing landscape.
