TwelveLabs is seeking a Technical Marketing Writer to translate complex video AI technology—such as Marengo and Pegasus—into engaging, accessible content for diverse audiences, including developers, creators, and AI-native builders.
This role focuses on creating content that makes multimodal video embeddings and video-to-text reasoning approachable, whether through step-by-step tutorials for developers, plain-language explainers for chat interface users, or forum posts that spark conversations.
Candidates must be prepared to travel up to 10% of the time annually for conferences, meetings, and on-site processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Write blog posts, guides, video outlines, and tutorials tailored to developers, creators, and AI-native builders to help them understand and use TwelveLabs' products.
Own SEO and on-page optimization for content, collaborating with external SEO and web development teams to ensure discoverability.
Create educational resources (explainers, how-tos, conceptual overviews) to lower the barrier to understanding video AI for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Write technical articles for external platforms like developer forums, industry publications, and news sites.
Support email and social copy when technical accuracy or product nuances are critical.
Partner with product, engineering, and partner marketing teams to stay updated on TwelveLabs' capabilities, including integrations with tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and MCP servers.
Monitor competitors and the broader video AI space to refine how TwelveLabs communicates its technology.
Qualifications:
Experience writing technical or product content for mixed audiences, including developers and non-technical end users.
A portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify complex technical concepts without oversimplifying, while adjusting tone for different audiences.
Sufficient technical fluency to read documentation, follow code samples, or engage in engineering discussions to inform writing.
Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals to ensure content aligns with search strategies.
Strong instincts for content structure, ensuring guides and tutorials are actionable and easy to follow.
Comfortability switching between formats, such as long-form guides and concise forum posts or social captions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with video, multimodal AI, or computer vision concepts.
Experience writing about or using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or MCP servers, particularly for non-technical audiences.
Experience writing for developer communities (e.g., Dev.to, Hacker News, Reddit).
Basic comfort with Git, APIs, or SDKs to test and validate content before publication.

Twelve Labs
View Company ProfileTwelve Labs is a pioneering artificial intelligence company that specializes in building foundation models for multimodal video understanding. Founded in 2021, the San Francisco-based company is on a mission to give machines the ability to see, hear, and reason about video content exactly like humans do. Under the hood, Twelve Labs utilizes its powerful proprietary AI models—such as Marengo (a video encoder) and Pegasus (a video-language model)—to simultaneously process temporal and spatial data. Instead of relying on basic manual tags or metadata, the platform automatically extracts and maps relationships between visual actions, spoken words, on-screen text, and audio cues, turning massive video libraries into mathematically searchable embeddings. Their primary target audience includes global media and entertainment conglomerates, advertising agencies, and enterprise security teams who need to instantly search, summarize, and analyze petabytes of raw video footage through simple API calls. What sets Twelve Labs apart in the generative AI landscape is its highly scalable, video-native architecture that brings advanced, context-aware visual intelligence to any workflow, allowing developers to build sophisticated applications without having to train and maintain complex multimodal infrastructure themselves.
