An overview of this role
At GitLab, we’re looking for a Talent Brand Manager to shape how current and prospective team members understand what it means to work here. You’ll bring GitLab’s employer value proposition to life through storytelling, recruitment marketing, candidate education, and experiences that connect our external reputation to our internal culture. You’ll partner across GitLab to turn talent brand strategy into campaigns and content throughout the candidate journey.
This role is a strong fit for a brand, recruitment marketing, employer brand, or content professional who can move between strategy and execution. You’ll use editorial judgment, data, and cross-functional collaboration to create clear, inclusive, and authentic candidate experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Translate GitLab’s employer value proposition and company direction into clear, differentiated, and authentic candidate-facing messaging.
- Deliver integrated talent brand campaigns across careers content, social media, employer review platforms, talent communities, events, and recruiter channels.
- Develop and curate stories featuring team members, leaders, teams, culture, values, career growth, and the impact of working at GitLab.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to create targeted content and campaigns that support hiring priorities, pipeline generation, and conversion.
- Improve candidate journey touchpoints with transparent, consistent, and relevant information throughout the hiring process.
- Use content, channel, candidate feedback, and funnel metrics to improve performance and communicate impact.
- Collaborate across GitLab to ensure content is accurate, inclusive, culturally relevant, and aligned with our voice.
- Manage projects and external partners while improving talent brand processes, systems, reporting, and operations through iteration and thoughtful use of technology and artificial intelligence tools.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in talent brand, employer brand, recruitment marketing, content strategy, communications, or a related field.
- Experience translating a brand or employer value proposition into content, campaigns, or audience experiences.
- Strong storytelling, writing, editing, and editorial judgment across multiple channels.
- Experience planning and delivering campaigns or programs with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and deadlines.
- Comfort using performance data, audience insights, feedback, and market research to improve outcomes.
- Experience influencing across functions and working with senior stakeholders, subject matter experts, creative partners, or vendors.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing work, and move from strategy to detailed execution in an asynchronous environment.
- A commitment to inclusive, transparent storytelling, alignment with GitLab’s values and remote working practices, and applicable work authorization.
About the Team
The GitLab Talent Brand team helps candidates understand what it means to work here through marketing, storytelling, partnerships, candidate education, and recruiter enablement. We evolve GitLab’s employer narrative, strengthen regional presence, improve talent content and platforms, support targeted attraction, and use data to understand our impact on candidate engagement and hiring outcomes.
