About the Role
We’re looking for a Stability & Documentation Manager to join our Gummy R&D team. While our formulation team focuses on ensuring gummies taste and perform correctly, this role ensures they maintain that quality over time and keeps all documents defining a SKU accurate and current.
You’ll design and run the stability testing program across our gummy portfolio, determine test method compatibility, and negotiate directly with testing labs. You’ll also manage the full document suite for every SKU, including specs and SFPs, staging specifications and signing off on them. This position reports to the Director, R&D and sits within the Product organization. Ideal for someone with 4+ years in formulation or product development, ready to step into a role centered on judgment and accountability.
This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment with biannual in-person off-sites.
In This Role, You Will:
- Run the stability testing program for the gummy portfolio, including setting up protocols, tracking results against shelf-life targets, and presenting data to stakeholders.
- Decide whether proposed or existing test methods are suitable for a given matrix, pushing back or finding better alternatives when necessary.
- Handle price and scope negotiations with third-party testing labs.
- Review and maintain the document suite for every SKU, including specs, SFPs, and related documents, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.
- Stage product specifications from draft through final sign-off.
- Identify stability or documentation issues early, such as ingredient degradation or packaging interactions, before they become launch or quality problems.
- Collect and review formulation and ingredient documents for assessment.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and co-manufacturers to maintain consistency in specs, test methods, and stability protocols across the supply chain.
- Keep a clean paper trail across the document suite to reconstruct any SKU’s history if needed.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has 4+ years in R&D, quality, or product development in supplements, food, or a similar regulated category, ideally with gummy or confectionery experience.
- Has designed and run stability studies, not just reviewed them, including validating test methods for complex matrices.
- Knows gummy chemistry well enough to assess when a test method won’t hold up, addressing issues like detection limits, matrix interference, or incorrect extraction methods.
- Has negotiated with contract testing labs before on price, scope, or turnaround.
- Is comfortable owning specs end-to-end and signing off on them.
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Is highly organized with strong attention to detail, serving as the primary owner of document accuracy.
- Can communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, co-manufacturers, and outside labs.
Approach to the Role:
This role treats stability data and documentation as the actual source of truth. The ideal candidate is comfortable signing off, pushing back, or saying “not yet” independently. They build processes that hold up across SKUs and negotiate well with labs while keeping stakeholders informed about specs and stability.
