Sportsbook Risk and Trading Specialist

The Risk and Trading Team at PENN Entertainment is responsible for all Sports Betting products, pricing, risk management, Boosts, Specials, Promotions, and Player Props in a fast-paced, 24/7 North American-facing operator. This role focuses on the full spectrum of the Sportsbook product, including performance, promotion, presentation, and pricing, with a strong emphasis on the fan experience.

About the Work

• Manage live betting markets in real time across assigned sports/events.
• Adjust odds proactively based on: Game state (score, time, momentum), injuries, cards, or key events, and market movement and betting activity.
• Execute liability-aware decisions, including: Price moves, market suspension, and stake/limit considerations.
• Ensure pricing is competitive vs key operators (e.g., Bet365, Pinnacle).
• Operate within event templates and market tiers, adjusting when required.
• Monitor and react to sharp or arbitrage activity.
• Use internal tools to track exposure and performance.
• Contribute to live trading improvements and process optimization.

About You

• Post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as mathematics, business, or other analytical disciplines.
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in a trading environment or assessing and calculating risk within the areas of insurance or finance is advantageous.
• Good all-round sports betting knowledge and a strong interest in betting and odds required.
• Data obsessed, not just data driven. Excellent mathematical skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Flexibility is a must as working hours will be dictated by business needs. Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
• Must have exceptional time management skills.
• High attention to detail and precision in delivery.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and in a team setting.
• Strong initiative and outstanding work ethic.
