About the Role
Nightingale College is looking for a Solutions Architect who thinks in systems, builds with AI, and owns a problem from the first conversation all the way to production. This isn't a traditional developer role — you won't be handed a spec and told to code it. You'll talk directly with the people who have the problem, design a solution that actually fits, and use AI-native tools as your primary build engine to bring it to life. If you're energized by eliminating the gap between "here's what we need" and "here's a working solution," this role was built for you.
What You'll Do
- Engage directly with end-users and stakeholders to understand problems, surface requirements, and define what success looks like.
- Design solution architectures that are practical, scalable, and grounded in real business needs.
- Build and iterate on solutions using AI-native development tools and workflows.
- Own your solution from first conversation through production deployment.
- Continuously shrink the time between spotting a problem and shipping working software.
- Spot opportunities to improve existing systems and workflows through AI-enabled solutions.
What You Bring
- Experience in a solutions, technical, product, or systems role (see level breakdown below).
- A demonstrated ability to build working solutions using AI-native tools — this is required in place of a formal degree.
- Comfort listening first and building second: you gather requirements by asking questions, not assuming answers.
- A systems-thinking mindset — you see the whole problem, not just the immediate ask.
- An iterative approach: you ship early, gather feedback, and improve fast.
- Strong communication skills that bridge business needs and technical reality.
- Relevant cloud, data, or AI platform certifications are a plus, though not required.
Level Differences:
| Architect I | Architect II | |
| Scope | Assigned, well-defined problems | Moderately complex, cross-functional problems |
| Autonomy | Guided | Independent, with check-ins |
| Day-to-Day | Works on clearly scoped problems under close guidance; participates in user conversations with support from senior team members | Independently gathers requirements through direct end-user engagement; manages full delivery cycle with limited oversight; identifies gaps and proposes improvements; contributes to team standards and shares learnings |
Minimum Qualifications by Level:
| Architect I | Architect II | |
| Experience | 0–2 years in a solutions, technical, product, or systems role | 2–4 years in a solutions, technical, product, or systems role |
| AI-Building Track Record | Demonstrated ability to build working solutions with AI-native tools | Proven track record of delivering AI-built solutions end-to-end |
What We're Not Looking For
- Traditional developers who just use AI to write code faster.
- Specialists who design but don't build, or build but don't design.
- Someone who needs a fully-scoped spec before they can start.
