Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Senior Staff Software Engineer (Backend) to join our core decentralized Growth & App Infra team within the Consumer & Business Group in a full-time remote capacity across the United States. In this high-leverage architectural seat, you will claim individual strategic accountability for designing, building, and operating the foundational backend services that predictably and repeatedly drive user metrics across our global enterprise product journey. Shifting completely away from basic feature updates or superficial application patching, you will architect real-time, high-frequency systems spanning logged-out client discovery, complex onboarding streams, and core trading and investing engines. This leadership position requires an infrastructure veteran with 10+ years of backend engineering background who influences complex system decisions without direct structural authority, establishes rigorous service level objectives (SLOs), and utilizes generative AI frameworks responsibly to optimize developer velocity under high-stakes conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Scalable Backend Services Architecture: Design, optimize, and govern high-throughput backend microservices power-routing next-generation crypto solutions, taking deep ownership over core risk, notification, and dynamic presentation platforms.
• High-Frequency Distributed Programming: Code and scale resilient, low-latency transaction nodes, implementing performant concurrent streaming mechanics and distributed messaging patterns natively using Backend code architecture.
• Onchain Layer-2 Solution Ingestion: Formulate and deploy scalable web properties, blockchain indexing adapters, and smart-contract execution layers natively utilizing Web3 optimization principles to enable mass developer onboarding.
• Horizontal Engineering Technical Leadership: Lead and align horizontal technical directions across multiple parallel engineering teams, collaborating peer-to-peer with principal leaders across the company to influence core architectural definitions.
• Reliability and Latency Metric Enforcement: Drive exceptional technical quality and operational hygiene across high-frequency consumer workloads, defining clear framework metrics and holding strict bars on system SLOs.
• Reusable Growth Engine Prototyping: Shape, package, and deploy reusable software components and shared libraries that allow cross-functional product cells to iterate faster and compound real-world business results.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of verified professional history running advanced backend software engineering, principal distributed systems architecture, high-frequency application development, or full-lifecycle corporate technology consulting.
• Proven track record successfully architecting, operating, and debugging high-scale system backends handling high-frequency, low-latency workloads under stringent uptime and reliability metrics.
• Deep, authoritative technical command of distributed database design, concurrency frameworks, multithreaded programming models, and asynchronous networking layers natively using advanced Backend languages.
• Production-tested familiarity managing, scaling, and deploying decentralized applications, transaction nodes, or cryptographic data formats natively leveraging Web3 development patterns.
• Demonstrated history collaborating with senior corporate and product leaders to navigate complex software trade-offs, drive alignments, and deliver measurable business-ready impact without direct authority.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication traits in fluent English, with an absolute capacity to produce clear technical documentation and influence architecture choices across global teams.
