About TrustedHousesitters

TrustedHousesitters is a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer marketplace redefining pet care and travel. Our mission is to make travel work better for pets, their people, and the global community of animal lovers. We’ve grown into a global community with members in over 140 countries, a product loved by people, and a team of more than 100 brilliant humans. Our goal is to grow to 1 million members and become the world’s most-loved travel solution for pet people.

The Role

This is not just a marketing designer role—it’s a leadership position within the TrustedHousesitters creative studio. You’ll help shape how our brand evolves as we expand into bigger markets with ambitious ideas.

Our brand voice is bold, cheeky, and rebellious, and we’re looking for someone who can push that further while maintaining the trust our members rely on.

This is a hands-on, senior role where you’ll take work from concept to delivery, including performance data analysis to measure success.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead paid social campaigns, our biggest acquisition lever, from concept to delivery, ensuring ads are funny, bold, and different while hitting conversion and engagement benchmarks.
  • Generate and lead creative ideas independently, collaborating with copywriters and presenting goal-focused concepts to senior teams.
  • Bring the brand to life through motion, animation, and video, taking the lead on motion across the studio.
  • Support on larger brand activation briefs, including photography, motion shoots, and events.
  • Assist the Marketing Design Lead in major brand campaign moments and help develop and evolve our brand’s look and feel.
  • Design campaign visuals and digital content across paid, organic, and owned channels (social media, video, landing pages, UGC).
  • Prototype quickly and iterate using modern workflows, including gen AI tools, and lead the studio on tooling adoption.
  • Optimize creative using performance data and insights to creatively advertise to our ICPs (Ideal Customer Profiles).
  • Raise the bar on craft through thoughtful peer feedback and light-touch mentoring of junior studio members.

What You’ll Need

  • Nose-to-tail creative ownership: A track record of turning ideas into finished, multi-format artwork at pace and regularly.
  • Motion and video craft: Proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro (or equivalent) with a portfolio showcasing real motion work, not just static design with minimal animation.
  • Performance creative: Hands-on experience designing for paid social and digital ad formats (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, GDN), including vertical, short-form, and UGC-style content, and using data to improve results.
  • Idea generation: Confidence in developing campaign ideas, not just executing others’ ideas, and proactively bringing your own ideas to senior leadership.
  • Range and brand judgment: Ability to adapt to a cheeky, irreverent tone while maintaining brand consistency across evolving formats.
  • A scale-up mindset: Willingness to switch between SLT-level brand moments and quick asset requests in the same week with no ego and high pace.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and gen AI tools used in your workflow.

Nice to Have

  • On-set or shoot experience (briefing, art direction, working with talent, and bonus points for animals).
  • Experience with digital products, online memberships, or trust-based marketplaces.
  • Experience at a brand scaling into the US or other international markets.
  • A background in pet, travel, or digital product industries.

Cultural Fit Considerations

This role is not for you if:

  • You see seniority as a step away from smaller tasks—here, everyone gets involved regardless of brief size.
  • You prefer to delegate motion work—this role requires you to own it.
  • You need a fully formed brief before starting—you’ll help shape ideas as much as deliver them.
  • Your work is judged solely on aesthetics—ours is also judged on performance and data-driven iteration.
  • You prefer polished, premium work over a bold, playful, and rebellious tone.
  • You’d rather stay behind the screen than get involved in shoots and content production.

Hiring Process

  1. Intro video call with the Talent team.
  2. Portfolio review with the Creative Studio.
  3. A short, hypothetical creative task followed by a conversation about your thinking.
