About Stellar Health:
Historically, US Healthcare has relied on a fee-for-service reimbursement system where providers are paid based on the quantity of patient visits and procedures, rather than the quality of health outcomes.
At Stellar Health, we help primary care providers put patient health first. Our platform—a mix of technology, people, and analytics—supports providers at the point of care, delivering real-time patient information, activating practice staff, and empowering providers and care teams with incentives that reward the work they are already doing to keep patients healthy. Using the Stellar App, our web-based, point-of-care tool, practices receive a simple checklist of recommended actions that support the best quality care. Providers and care teams are then paid monthly for each action they complete, and payors save money in reduced healthcare costs along the way.
Stellar is a US-based Health-tech backed by top VCs (General Atlantic, Point72, & Primary Venture Partners) with an established product and proven operating model. We’ve shown that we make a real difference for physician practices and their patients.
About the position:
Stellar Health's Quality function is responsible for our MSSP quality submission process and for serving as the internal quality authority across the business. As Senior Associate, Quality Programs, you will report directly to the Director, Quality Programs, and will be a critical hands-on contributor to that mission—owning the execution of our MSSP quality submission and bringing rigor and accuracy to how we track, validate, and report on quality data.
You are not expected to arrive as a quality subject-matter expert—you are expected to arrive as an exceptional analyst: someone who is meticulous with data, fluent in Excel, comfortable owning a process end-to-end, and eager to build deep expertise in HEDIS and CMS Stars over time. Prior HEDIS/Stars exposure is a real plus, but a strong analytical foundation and the drive to grow into the quality space matter more.
You will spend the majority of your time on our MSSP quality submission workflow: preparing and validating data, maintaining trackers, and catching issues before they become risks. As your subject-matter knowledge grows, you'll take on more ownership across the quality landscape and become a go-to resource for quality questions.
How you'll make an impact:
Quality Submission Execution
- Own day-to-day execution of Stellar's MSSP quality submission workflow, including data preparation, formatting, and validation ahead of deadlines.
- Track submission timelines and deliverables for the MSSP quality program, proactively flagging risks, delays, or data gaps to the Director, Quality Programs.
- Build and maintain Excel-based trackers, QA checklists, and dashboards to monitor MSSP submission status and data integrity.
- Support internal audits and review cycles ahead of MSSP submission sign-off.
Data & Analysis
- Conduct routine data validation and reconciliation to catch discrepancies before they reach a payer or regulator.
- Analyze quality performance data to identify trends, gaps, and areas that need escalation.
- Translate raw data into clear, organized summaries that support the Director's reporting to senior leadership.
Growth & Collaboration
- Build foundational, then increasingly deep, knowledge of HEDIS, CMS Stars, and related quality programs, with the goal of taking on greater subject-matter ownership over time.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Customer Success to help answer quality-related questions and support submission readiness.
- Document and continuously improve submission processes and quality-check procedures.
What you'll bring:
- 3–5 years of career experience in a healthcare, quality, data, or operations-focused analyst role.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data cleaning and validation) and comfort working with large, messy datasets.
- A HEDIS and/or CMS Stars background is a strong plus, but not required—genuine interest in building deep expertise in quality programs matters more.
- Sharp analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a track record of catching errors before they become problems.
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams at once without dropping details.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior exposure to HEDIS, CMS Stars, MSSP, or other healthcare quality reporting programs.
- Familiarity with CPT, CPT II, and diagnosis (Dx/ICD) coding.
- Experience with data visualization or BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- SQL or other data-querying experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup or health-tech environment.
- A Bachelor's degree.
