Scientific Director

About the Role

As a Scientific Director, you will serve as a scientific expert, providing insights and knowledge to projects, clients, and new business efforts. Your responsibilities include:

• Reviewing projects for strategic alignment and scientific accuracy.
• Acting as the medical writer for scientifically complex projects when needed.
• Building scientific credibility and partnerships, ensuring a high level of service with each client.
• Providing scientific and strategic expertise to new business development activities, including researching and developing content for pitches.
• Leading the presentation team and supporting junior team members through mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

Your core duties include:

• Working closely with teams to lead the scientific development of projects.
• Leading the development of scientifically complex materials and driving projects to completion.
• Combining in-depth scientific understanding of product/therapy areas with strong commercial awareness to inform deliverables and communication planning.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure the highest level of service.
• Participating in business development activities, such as pitching and proposals.
• Providing leadership to ensure teams exceed performance standards and develop professionally.

About You

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• 5-10 years+ of experience in a medical communications agency environment, including medical writing experience and editorial management experience.
• Experience working in Oncology is strongly preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree in the life sciences; PharmD or PhD highly preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.
