The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be the first point of contact for a steady stream of inbound, outbound (Account-Based Marketing, ABM), and reactivation leads. This role is designed to build the company’s outbound systems from the ground up, reporting directly to the Founder.

Position Summary

This is not a generic dialer role. The ideal candidate has real experience selling into B2B SaaS or funded tech startups, can hold a credible first conversation with senior marketing and growth buyers, and is motivated to grow into a more senior sales role as the function scales. The role starts part-time (~20 hours/week), with a 90-day review for a move to full-time based on performance and lead volume.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Response & Qualification

  • Respond same-day, ideally within the hour, to every inbound, outbound (ABM), and reactivation handoff across email, LinkedIn, and phone/text
  • Qualify every lead against ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) criteria, protecting the founder’s calendar from below-budget or bad-fit prospects
  • Book qualified discovery calls — turning a reply into a booked next step is the core measure of the role

Multi-Channel Outbound & Prospecting

  • Run second-channel follow-up (call, text, LinkedIn) wherever email goes quiet on handoffs from inbound and ABM
  • Self-source prospecting against the company’s ICP during downtime between handoffs — LinkedIn outreach and targeted email to build pipeline beyond inbound and ABM
  • Support the development and execution of high-value, niche outbound campaigns (e.g., targeted email and direct mail to a curated list of key accounts) in partnership with the founder

CRM & Sales Systems

  • Keep the CRM clean and current — every touch, stage move, and next action logged as you go
  • Help select, configure, and maintain outreach tooling as the company builds out its sales stack; the team is open to your recommendations on platforms

Coaching & Growth

  • Shadow the founder’s calls and playbook early on, then operate independently as you prove it out
  • Build toward a more senior sales role as the function and lead volume scale

Qualifications

  • B2B SaaS or sales-development experience, ideally selling to funded tech startups — prioritized over specific SEO or digital-marketing expertise
  • Able to hold a credible first conversation with marketing, growth, or founder-level buyers
  • Exposure to the SEO/AEO or digital-marketing space is a plus, but not required
  • Organized and responsive across multiple channels — phone, LinkedIn, email, and CRM
  • Coachable and fast-learning, comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a lean, remote-first environment
  • Based in the United States; Eastern or Central time zone preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Multi-Channel Outbound Prospecting
  • Lead Qualification (ICP-Based)
  • B2B SaaS / Tech Startup Sales Experience
  • CRM Management & Pipeline Hygiene
  • Sales Outreach Tool Selection & Setup (e.g., Apollo or similar)
  • Relationship Building & Written Communication
  • Cold Email & Direct Mail Campaign Development

What Success Looks Like

  • Response speed (non-negotiable): same-day, within-the-hour response on every handoff, no exceptions
  • Booked calls: 15–20 qualified discovery calls booked per month, roughly one per day, across handoff response and self-sourced outreach
  • The founder stops being the bottleneck on responding to his own pipeline
