As Flock expands customer partnerships across both public-sector agencies and commercial organizations, managing the volume and complexity of transactional agreements is central to our growth trajectory. Delivering thoughtful legal guidance while keeping contracting velocity high requires dedicated legal leadership to develop transactional attorneys and streamline deal structures. You will lead our revenue legal team, partner closely with GTM executives, and optimize our end-to-end commercial contracting framework.
What You'll Own
- Lead, coach, and support a team of transactional attorneys responsible for customer agreements across SaaS, software licensing, and professional services.
- Serve as the primary legal escalation lead for Sales, Finance, and Customer Success to negotiate complex public-sector and commercial transactions.
- Partner with Legal Operations to design, update, and deploy contract templates, playbooks, negotiation guidance, and self-service business resources.
- Advise cross-functional business partners on transaction structuring, risk mitigation, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Drive operational efficiency across contracting workflows, tools, and enablement resources to accelerate deal execution.
What This Role is Not
- This isn't a hands-off executive position, you'll actively negotiate complex customer agreements and directly review high-impact contract terms.
- This is not a specialized regulatory or litigation role, your primary focus centers on commercial transactions, customer contracting, and revenue enablement.
- This isn't a siloed legal function, you will collaborate daily with Sales, Finance, Product, and Legal Operations to align legal strategy with business growth goals.
What You Bring
- Extensive legal experience leading, negotiating, and drafting complex technology and commercial contracts spanning public-sector and private commercial customers.
- Proven track record managing, coaching, and developing a team of transactional attorneys.
- Demonstrated capability partnering with business teams to structure deals, manage risk, and resolve contract questions under tight deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal business partners and customers.
- Active license to practice law and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Prior in-house legal experience supporting a SaaS or technology company is a plus.

Flock Safety
View Company ProfileFlock Safety is a comprehensive public safety operating system and security hardware network designed to eliminate crime and build safer communities. The company is most widely recognized for its proprietary Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) cameras, which capture actionable vehicle data—such as license plates, vehicle make, type, color, and unique identifying features (like roof racks or bumper stickers). Under the hood, Flock Safety combines solar-powered, infrastructure-free hardware with an advanced, cloud-based machine learning platform. This software instantly cross-references captured vehicle data against state and national crime databases (like the FBI's NCIC), sending real-time alerts to local law enforcement when a stolen or wanted vehicle enters a monitored area. Their primary target audience spans a wide spectrum, including thousands of local police departments, Homeowners Associations (HOAs), property managers, school districts, and commercial businesses. What sets Flock Safety apart in the physical security space is its ethical, privacy-first approach to surveillance—data is strictly encrypted, automatically deleted after 30 days by default, does not use facial recognition, and is expressly not sold to third parties, striking a unique balance between proactive crime prevention and community privacy.
