Prior Authorizations Nurse (LVN) - Temporary Position

This is a temporary position. The length of the assignment is estimated to go until 12/31/26, but this is always dependent on business need, and these dates may change. While the assignment would be at the Alliance, you would be an employee of a temporary employment agency.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) temporary assignment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Utilization Management Supervisor, this position:

Acts within the scope of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians of the State of California to ensure that prior authorization requests are completed in a timely fashion to meet contractual requirements and ensure that all reviews are conducted using nationally recognized and evidence-based standards.

• Knowledge of:
  • MCG C guidelines in review determination process
  • Medi-Cal and related policy and benefits-related Title 22 regulations
  • Principles and practices of clinical nursing
• Ability to:
  • Evaluate medical records and other healthcare data
  • Interpret and apply policies and regulations
  • Define issues, conduct research, collect and review data, and contribute to the evaluation of options and individualized interventions related to the care plan or treatment plan, under the supervision of a professional Registered Nurse (RN)
• Education and Experience:
  • Current unrestricted license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse issued by the State of California
  • High school graduation or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience performing work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a patient care setting which included some utilization management or case management responsibilities

OTHER INFORMATION

• We are in a hybrid work environment and anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
• While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
• In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need.
• This is a temporary position and does not provide the benefits listed below. Temporary employees on assignment at the Alliance will be connected to a staffing agency with separate benefit options.
