As the Manager of Patient Engagement at Atlas Oncology Partners, you may be the first voice many patients hear, and you'll set the standard for everyone who follows you. This is a working manager role: roughly 80% hands-on telephonic outreach and 20% team leadership.

Core Responsibilities

You will carry your own outreach panel and enrollment targets while coaching a small team, building the playbook, and helping us scale patient engagement across new clinic sites. You will start with one direct report and are expected to help grow, hire, and onboard the team as Atlas expands.

Above all, you're passionate about being a true partner to people living with cancer through every step of their care journey. You understand that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, and you believe no one should have to navigate it alone. That belief shapes how you approach every conversation—and how you teach your team to approach theirs. Because Atlas is a startup, you are comfortable with change and ready to pivot quickly when priorities shift.

Patient Engagement (~80%)

  • Utilize telephonic outreach and engagement strategies to contact patients and caregivers, explain Atlas services, and support enrollment into the Atlas program.
  • Effectively communicate Atlas services and address patient or caregiver concerns.
  • Represent Atlas professionally to patients, caregivers, and oncology partners.
  • Coordinate with the local outreach team to support telephonic outreach to engaged and non-engaged patients.
  • Leverage reports and dashboards to prioritize telephonic outreach to prospective patients.
  • Successfully meet and/or exceed individual monthly engagement targets.
  • Provide inbound call support for the clinic as needed, including routing calls to the appropriate team member.
  • Support other clinic administrative tasks as assigned, including referral routing and medical record-related tasks.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex, sensitive, or at-risk patient conversations.

Team Leadership (~20%)

  • Directly supervise the Patient Engagement team, beginning with one Patient Engagement Associate, and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support.
  • Own the team's enrollment and engagement targets; monitor performance against goals and intervene early when trends move in the wrong direction.
  • Conduct regular call reviews and one-on-ones to develop trust-building, objection-handling, and documentation skills.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training as the team grows across Atlas sites.
  • Build and maintain outreach scripts, call workflows, SOPs, and training materials; refine them based on what actually works on the phones.
  • Partner with Operations, Clinical, and site leadership to align outreach priorities with clinic capacity and scheduling.
  • Escalate operational barriers, data quality, dashboard gaps, staffing, telephony, or CRM issues to the Operations Director with a recommended path forward.

View Company Profile

Atlas Oncology Partners (operating at atlasoncpartners.com and atlasonc.com) is a value-based oncology care enablement platform engineered to bridge community oncology practices with whole-person supportive care. Founded in 2025 by Kate Barnard Roberts, Dr. David Johnson, and Dr. Gabrielle Rocque in collaboration with Rubicon Founders and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Atlas aligns financial incentives across payers, providers, and patients by assuming full medical cost risk for cancer populations. Rather than displacing existing oncologists, the platform embeds interdisciplinary extended care teams directly into local community practices—offering 24/7 symptom triage, care coordination, psychosocial support, advanced care planning, and on-site management of cancer-adjacent conditions. Under the hood, Atlas leverages an advanced health economics, actuarial, and analytics stack—including multi-scenario contract modeling and dynamic risk stratification—to negotiate outcomes-based contracts across Medicare Advantage and commercial plans. Backed by a $28M Series A led by Flare Capital Partners and Rubicon Founders, Atlas lowers non-drug total cost of care, prevents avoidable emergency room visits, and maximizes quality of life for patients undergoing active treatment.
