Part-Time Graphic Designer (Up to 250 Hours/Year) for VA OAA Data Management Center

Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Graphic Designer (up to 250 hours per year) to design and implement accessible, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces for VA OAA Data Management Center (DMC) applications and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement accessible, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces for applications and platforms
• Create visually compelling, user-centered designs using Bootstrap, jQuery, and centralized CSS files
• Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to integrate designs within the .NET Core, C#, and Power Platform environment
• Ensure all new and modified designs comply with Section 508 accessibility standards
• Maintain visual and functional consistency across applications and reports
• Support formal usability testing activities under Task 5, as directed by the COR

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field; no equivalencies accepted
• 4+ years of graphic design experience focused on user-centered design and accessibility
• Proficiency in Bootstrap, jQuery, centralized CSS files, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
• Experience collaborating with development teams to integrate designs into technical environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Section 508 compliance certification or training
