Job Description

The role of Managing Director, Environmental Consulting involves founding and leading Infinity's Environmental Consulting business unit. You will be the key practitioner with deep expertise in a specific environmental niche, maintaining real client relationships, and defining what constitutes a compliant report.

About the Practice

Environmental consulting encompasses compliance and permitting work required before, during, and after physical development, including pipelines, transmission lines, real estate, and industrial sites. This field involves multiple disciplines such as wetland and waterbody delineation, habitat and species surveys, contamination assessment, and regulatory compliance auditing.

A typical engagement starts once a client identifies a route or site. Teams survey the land, collect field data using GIS tools, and produce reports filed with local, state, and/or federal agencies. Demand is driven by regulation rather than market sentiment, and noncompliance costs far exceed the cost of the service.

The industry remains manual and fragmented, with reports largely being boilerplate with jurisdiction-specific edits. There is no shared source of truth for what each county or agency requires, leading to wasted time searching and calling for information. Projects often involve chains of subcontractors, leaving clients without a single point of accountability. Infinity aims to address these issues by building tools and establishing a single point of accountability.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the business unit: Manage the Environmental Consulting BU end-to-end, including strategy, client relationships, quality, and financial performance.

  • Define the niche: Choose which environmental sub-specialty or sub-specialties the unit will serve and identify the target buyers.

  • Originate and grow the book: Bring existing client relationships to Infinity and expand them across a broad client roster.

  • Stand behind the outcome: Be the single accountable point of contact for clients from site survey through filing, ensuring they do not manage a chain of subcontractors.

  • Set the standard for a compliant report: Define what a complete, jurisdiction-correct report includes and review and sign off on drafted reports rather than assembling them from scratch.

  • Direct the tooling: Collaborate with Infinity's engineering and product teams to develop a centralized source for jurisdiction-specific requirements, streamlined field data capture, and automated report drafting.

  • Shape the team: Determine the appropriate team structure for your niche, which may include additional practitioners for fieldwork that AI cannot handle.

  • Collaborate across Infinity: Partner with other business unit leaders to cross-sell to shared clients as Infinity's portfolio grows.

What We're Looking For

  • Deep niche expertise: Substantial hands-on experience in a specific environmental discipline, with the technical credentials and standing required by regulators and clients.

  • Real client relationships: An existing book of business or the ability to quickly build one.

  • Regulatory fluency: Comprehensive knowledge of what local, state, and/or federal agencies require for your niche, including jurisdiction-specific variations.

  • Senior practitioner or already independent: Either a senior-level professional ready to build a practice with significant upside or an independent practitioner looking to leverage Infinity's resources to handle more work.

  • A point of view on automation: Insight into which parts of the work (research on jurisdictional requirements, field data capture, report drafting) should transition to AI-driven workflows.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: Motivated by rebuilding the firm structure rather than developing software for existing firms.

  • Location: Must be based in the United States. Current business units serve US clients only.

View Company Profile

Infinity Constellation is the world's first AI-native holding company (HoldCo) built to disrupt the $9 trillion traditional professional services market. Founded in 2022 and spun out of Invisible Technologies—an industry leader in AI data training that powers 80% of top large language models (LLMs)—the firm officially emerged from stealth in May 2025 with $17M in Series B funding. Operating under a unique model that combines the rapid scale of a venture studio with the discipline of a traditional HoldCo, Infinity Constellation provides exceptional founders with shared capital, proprietary AI infrastructure, and a proven playbook to launch highly profitable, product-driven companies from day zero. Upon its public launch, the company simultaneously unveiled a portfolio of eight specialized startups—including Supernal, Everest, and Labrynth—tackling complex legacy workflows such as regulatory compliance, executive recruiting, and back-office fintech operations. What sets Infinity Constellation apart is its mission to eliminate the massive burn rates of traditional venture capital, instead empowering seasoned operators to build lean, revenue-first "AI Process Platforms" that fundamentally redefine how global enterprise services are delivered.
