JoVE is the world-leading producer and provider of video solutions with the mission to improve scientific research and education. Millions of scientists, educators and students use JoVE for their research, teaching and learning. Our institutional clients comprise over 1,000 universities, colleges, and biopharma companies, including such leaders as Harvard, MIT, Yale, and Stanford. As a rapidly growing company, with offices in the USA, UK, Australia, and India servicing clients in over 60 countries, we are seeking talented and ambitious individuals to join our company.

The Role

We're looking for a Lead Product Manager to build and run a team of PMs, while owning the strategy and outcomes for a defined product area. This role combines people leadership with hands-on product judgment: you'll set direction for your team, be accountable for what they ship, and stay close enough to the work to unblock, coach, and, when needed, prototype or validate ideas yourself using modern AI tools.

You'll report into senior product leadership, represent your area in strategic planning, and be responsible for the growth and output of the PMs on your team, not just your own roadmap.

What will you do:

  • Lead and manage a team of Product Managers, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development
  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for a defined product area, with accountability for both your team's outcomes and your own
  • Set standards for how your team validates ideas, including rapid prototyping using tools like Replit, Lovable, Claude Code, or similar
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into clear priorities and sequencing for your team, and make the final call on trade-offs
  • Ensure your team runs rigorous user research, including interviews, usability testing, and structured feedback loops
  • Define the metrics framework for your product area and hold your team accountable to experimentation and data-driven decisions
  • Partner with engineering, design, and leadership as a peer, driving alignment on priorities and resourcing across your area
  • Build a high-ownership, high-velocity culture on your team, including how PMs adopt AI-assisted tools to move faster
  • Represent your product area in leadership and planning conversations, including roadmap reviews and org-level trade-offs

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 6-9+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 2 years directly managing a team of PMs, in EdTech, SaaS, HealthTech, marketplaces, or consumer technology companies
  • Demonstrated experience hiring, developing, and managing performance for product managers
  • Track record of owning a product area or line with clear business outcomes, at both the individual and team level
  • Builder mentality with hands-on experience creating prototypes and validating ideas using AI-assisted or no-code tools, and the judgment to know when your team should do the same
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach, with fluency in SQL, experimentation design, and product analytics
  • Technical fluency across software systems, APIs, backend architecture, or microservices, with working familiarity with AI coding tools
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a track record of driving alignment across senior leadership
  • High comfort operating in ambiguity, with the judgment to balance team unblocking against your own hands-on work

Benefits

Why Join JoVE?

  • A competitive compensation package.
  • You will make a direct impact in accelerating science research and in improving student learning in science education.
  • Opportunity to work with global teams and in an environment that promotes innovation and collaboration.
  • Our strong promotion from within culture draws a clear path to advance your career with us.

JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments) is the premier, peer-reviewed scientific video journal, STEM education platform, and digital laboratory infrastructure powerhouse engineered to operate as the definitive visualization and reproducibility layer for global academic and biopharmaceutical research. The company completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of traditional scientific publishing—where researchers and students struggle to replicate complex experimental methodologies, laboratory protocols, and physical hand movements from static, text-only journal scripts—by deploying high-definition, step-by-step video publication pipelines. Moving far beyond traditional, text-based academic archives or unvetted media libraries, JoVE natively unifies its indexed video journal (abstracted in PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, and Scopus) with its specialized JoVE Science Education, JoVE Core, and JoVE Lab Manual frameworks into a single high-availability learning ecosystem. The platform empowers millions of scientists, professors, and students across thousands of prestigious universities and life-science centers globally—including Harvard, MIT, Yale, and Stanford—to optimize training velocities, reduce laboratory resource waste, and maximize experimental success rates with elite precision. Under the hood, its sophisticated technical core natively orchestrates global, multi-region video production networks, custom interactive STEM quizzes, and AI-driven classroom curriculum mapping integrations. What sets JoVE apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing scientific ambiguity with absolute visual proof; by bridging the gap between intricate low-level physical manipulations and high-concurrency cloud-scale educational delivery, the firm enables global scientific networks to eliminate replication bottlenecks, supercharge academic literacy, and accelerate commercial and medical research innovations.
