The HR Generalist is responsible for creating, updating, and applying all HR policies and company guidelines, ensuring they adhere to standards and laws initiated by authorities. The role reports directly to the VP, Human Resources and assists in leading and directing the routine functions of the HR department, including:
- Employee onboarding,
- Payroll,
- Benefits,
- Leave management, and
- Enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The role involves:
- Managing leave and accommodation cases from intake through resolution, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Administering employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other federal, state, and company leave policies.
- Facilitating the ADA interactive process and coordinating reasonable accommodations with employees, managers, and medical providers.
- Serving as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on leave, disability, accommodation, and return-to-work matters.
- Maintaining accurate leave records, documentation, and case management tracking while ensuring confidentiality.
- Coordinating return-to-work processes and supporting employees transitioning back to the workplace.
- Assisting with employee relations matters related to attendance, leave, and workplace accommodations.
- Maintaining and updating leave-related policies, forms, and employee resources.
- Supporting HR projects, audits, compliance initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
