Job Description

About Mira Mace

Mira Mace pairs Medicare beneficiaries with a dedicated healthcare advocate who navigates appointments, insurance, and care coordination on their behalf. Our customers receive the support of caring nurses while AI agents handle the tedious backend work, all covered by Medicare.

We've experienced the challenges firsthand: the endless back-and-forth with insurance, surprise bills, and the lack of clarity when you just need answers. Too many people fall through the cracks, and we're determined to change that.

Today, 24/7 personalized health assistance is only available to the rich or the extremely sick. Our vision is for everyone to be able to afford a health assistant who knows their health history deeply, navigates the healthcare system on their behalf, and helps them become the healthiest version of themselves.

Our founding team brings technical experience from Microsoft, Google, Meta, and Amazon, and startup experience from bootstrapped ventures to Series D scale-ups. We're backed by Foundation Capital, Define Ventures, and Silicon Valley angel investors.

The Role

You will be the first clinical experience many of our patients have with Mira Mace, and you set the tone for everything that follows in their care.

  • Conduct **30-minute new-patient telehealth visits** with Medicare patients, primarily via video (phone when necessary), using up-to-date medical records provided: history, medication review, assessment, care plan, orders, referrals, and durable medical equipment when indicated.

  • Monthly review of care plans and logged hours of your patients' care advocates, providing clinical oversight to ensure each patient's health and social situation progresses positively.

  • Our care team schedules patients onto your calendar and assists with connections before the visit.

  • Documentation in our EHR (**Healthie**) using templates designed for these visits.

  • No evening, night, or weekend calls. You select a weekly block (**Monday–Friday, US daytime**) and maintain it.

What We Need

  • MD or DO, board-certified in **Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine**.

  • Active, unrestricted medical license(s) in the US. The more states, the better: our patients are in over **30 states**, and you see patients in every state you're licensed in.

  • Licensure in North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, Illinois, or Ohio is strongly preferred. Licensure in Texas, Florida, California, or Georgia, our largest patient populations, is also preferred. IMLC eligibility is a plus.

  • A clean record: no disciplinary or reprimand actions against your license, not opted out of Medicare, no exclusions. Already enrolled in Medicare (**PECOS**) is a plus; if not, we enroll you.

  • 3+ years post-residency; telehealth experience preferred.

What We Look For In You

  • Patience and empathy. Our patients are older and often vulnerable. Listening, gentleness, and a calm presence are the foundation of every visit.

  • A reliable remote setup. Strong internet, a quiet, professional space, and a computer with a camera.

Pay and Terms

  • $120 per hour as an independent contractor (**1099**). Your hours are paid in two payments each month.

  • At least **10 committed hours per week** (**15–20 preferred**), set with you each week based on patient demand.

  • Malpractice coverage provided for Mira Mace visits.

  • We handle credentialing and payer enrollment (about **5 weeks**). Within **1 day of accepting the offer**, please have your CAQH profile complete and up to date and send us your documents, so your enrollment applications go out the same week.

Timeline

  • Applications reviewed daily; we aim to interview within a week of your application.

  • Credentialing and payer enrollment take about **5 weeks** after you sign; then you start seeing patients.

To Apply

Apply below with your CV. In the application, list the US states you're licensed in (with expiry dates), the hours per week you can commit, and your preferred days and times (**Monday–Friday, US daytime**). Applicants must be based in the United States.
